Last time on In Love with a Killer:

He left out the window like usual, but not before checking all other windows and doors to make sure they were locked. Once he was satisfied, he left a small note and bid a quiet goodnight to his Little One before taking his leave...

Chapter Seven: When Rubies Meet Amethysts part 2

The next morning, Yugi awoke with his alarm clock. He opened his beautiful amethyst orbs to see another note sitting on his nightstand. Just then, memories of last night started to flood into his mind and he blushed a bright pink. He shook his head to get rid of the thoughts and began to read aloud like last time:

Dear Little One,

I know you must be feeling a mix of emotions right now, but fear not as I have taken it upon myself to decide to be your Guardian Angel. It's the least I could do for you after I killed the last of your family, and I truly am sorry. I had no idea that man was so important to you, I hope I am not too late to ask for your forgiveness.

Signed apologetically,
The Nameless Pharaoh

Yugi was... well, he didn't know how to feel. Everything was happening so fast, he barely had time to react all that much. He placed the note back on his dresser and got a quick shower so he could begin another school day, and thank Ra it was a Friday. Once he was finished getting ready he realized he was going to be a bit early, he didn't even notice he got everything done so quickly. He had to be at school in 20 minutes, so he decided to go at a slower pace when walking to school.

In just 10 minutes, he was already nearing the building. He was planning to have an overall smooth day, since it was the last day of school before winter break. He was really hoping not to run into any troublesome people, but it was just his luck as someone suddenly pulled him into an alley and threw him on the floor. He looked to see his attacker, it was someone from that gang that was always causing him problems, Ushio.

"Well well well, what do we have here? Little game boy thinking he'll have a nice day?" Ushio taunted in a gruff voice. He then laughed as Yugi started to cower from his almost monstrous form as he stood taller than any person in the school, be it a student, teacher or staff member. The huge boy smirked at Yugi and began to slowly walk towards him, but he was suddenly stopped by a voice.

"Pathetic, picking on the innocent and defenseless, what a coward. Afraid to fight someone your own size?" The voice taunted him. Ushio whipped his head around to see a very ominous silhouette of a person. He bared a great resemblance, shape wise, to Yugi and could even possibly pass for a family member, but Ushio didn't care. All he cared about was that someone would be foolish enough to actually challenge him, this man obviously does not know who he's dealing with.

"My own size? Listen shorty, last time I checked I was a lot bigger than you. So why don't you run along and just leave me to this pipsqueak?" Ushio didn't know who this guy thought he was, but he also didn't really care.

The person smirked, "What's wrong, Ushio? Scared of a head to head fight?" The person finally stepped out of the shadows and allowed half of his self to be revealed.

"Ya know, that's awfully big talk for such a little man," Ushio retaliated at the boy.

"Just because I'm a tad smaller than you doesn't make me any less of an opponent," Ushio was now fed up with this boy's teasing.

"Well then, enough chit chat. Let's go!" Ushio yelled as he went at Yami with a right fist. Yami smirked and suddenly vanished out of thin air. Ushio stopped and looked around frantically for the boy. Out of nowhere, Yami reappeared behind Ushio and pulled his arm behind his back.

Yami scoffed, "This is absolutely pathetic, I've seen old ladies put up more of a fight than you." Yami then threw Ushio against the wall and slowly walked up to him so he was hovering over him. He then pulled out a knife from his belt and quickly slit Ushio's throat. He smiled wickedly as blood once again splattered everywhere especially on himself, he then proceeded with drawing the Eye of Horus symbol across the brick wall next to the dead teen with the blood. And then once more he vanished out of sight, leaving a very shocked Yugi to scurry off to school.

Yugi was just in time as he had two minutes before the late bell when he sat down in his seat. He breathed a sigh of relief and looked out the window whilst he waited for the teacher. He saw that there were already three different police cars at the alley that he had just left. "Aye guys look, looks like dat murdarer struck again, huh?" A thick accented voice said to Yugi and two other people.

The first was a male with hair that ended in a point, he was also a darker skin color than the others. The second was a female with short, brunette hair and soft but fierce blue eyes. "Yeah, you know I heard he killed your father, Joey." The girl replied. Joey nodded his head in agreement and looked over to the male.

"Hey Tristan, didn't the killer get to your mother too?" The blonde asked "Tristan".

"Yup, for the same reasons he killed your father and for the same reasons he killed Téa's older brother," Tristan looked over to a slightly slumped 'Téa'.

"I'm pretty sure he's gotten to everyone. Well everyone except Yugi," Joey commented.

"Joey! His family was taken away too, remember? All he has left is his grandfather, so stop being so insensitive!" Téa exclaimed at the boy.

"Oh right, sorry Yug'," Joey apologized.

"It's alright, besides Téa isn't all that right," the teens all looked at Yugi confused.

Yugi looked down sadly, "He got my grandpa too..."

The group gasped, "I'm so sorry," they all said in unison. Yugi smiled at his friends but a single tear still streamed down his cheek. For the rest of the day, things were quite calm and cheerful for his little group of friends and Yugi enjoyed it that way. After school, he walked along the route and started to look forward to his break. He was supposed to be having a trip to Egypt with his grandpa, but it was obvious that that wasn't going to be happening anymore.

Even so Yugi guessed that just staying in Domino could be fun too. But what luck when he was once again pulled into an alley and thrown to the ground. He again looked at his attacker and saw that there were five different guys, all part of the same gang as Ushio was. They all frowned at him and each held a different weapon. They began walking very ominously towards the frightened Yugi who was backing away from them. He kept trying to get away until his back hit the end of the alley, he was trapped.

He was so scared, it must've just been random luck that Yami, who's real name was still unknown to Yugi, was around when Ushio was about to beat him up. He shut his eyes tightly and waited for the very worst to come at him, but it didn't. He cautiously opened one eye to see all of the other boys looking at something behind themselves. It was Yami and he looked ready, ready to kill.

He first went at the closest one and used the teen's own knife to slice his neck. He went at the next and used that boy's weapon, a pipe, to stab him clean through the heart. He took out the next two by snapping their necks and the last he threw against the wall so hard the poor boy probably puked up more than half of the blood in his body. After he was finished, he drew a large Eye of Horus symbol on the ground with the blood and licked away any excess of the red liquid still on his fingers...

What happens next? Why is Yami doing all these things? And just how far will Yami go for Yugi at this point?
