Chapter Six: When Rubies Meet Amethyst

'Poor boy, I knew when I eliminated his grandfather he'd be sad but I overlooked the part where that man was his last family. Now I think I feel... bad, is this... guilt that I'm feeling? Well whatever it is, it's making me feel like I now owe this boy something... but what? Maybe I could watch over him... yes that sounds reasonable, somewhat. Then it's settled, I'll be this young man's... Guardian Angel', Yami had a mental conversation with himself about his previous actions.

He had just calmed the crying Yugi down, who was now peacefully sleeping in the bed that Yami assumed was his. Yami had carried Yugi to the room he thought was his after he had fallen asleep in Yami's arms, which Yami found quite adorable. Anyway, Yami was now heading down the stairs to clean up the mess he made so his Little One wouldn't have to. He first started with the disposal of the body, once that was taken care of he moved on to mopping up the blood.

After that, he made sure to fix any possession in the house that was broken during the 'struggle' between him and the old man. Soon afterwards he decided it was time to head home, but he had a sudden urge to check on his Little One. Just for safe measure, of course. So he went up the stairs two at a time and reached the young teen's room much faster than he thought. When he was in the room he saw that everything was in its proper place just like before he had left.

Even Yugi had stayed in the exact same position, curled up in a ball and laying on his left side. Yami smiled at the cute sight and walked over to the right bedside. The young man then did something that surprised even himself, he bent over so he was hovering just above Yugi and placed a soft, gentle kiss on the boy's forehead.

He blushed a light pink and swore he saw the same thing happen to Yugi, but it was dark so he may be mistaking his regular skin pigment for a blush. So he just shrugged it off and concluded he was seeing things. He left out the window like usual, but not before checking all other windows and doors to make sure they were locked. Once he was satisfied, he left a small note and bid a quiet goodnight to his Little One before taking his leave...
