Last time on In Love with a Killer:
Yugi searched around, panicking like crazy but found no luck in finding the other three. He stopped at a corner to catch his breathe, he had ran for a good twenty minutes and was panting like crazy. When he finally regained his breath he looked up only to come face to face with him...
Chapter Eleven: A "Fun Day" part 2
There he stood, right in front of me. The one and only, "Nameless Pharaoh". I looked him straight in the eyes and he seemed just as stunned as I was but soon, I saw a warm smile upon his lips. "Hello, Little One. How are you?" he said to me in a deep, baritone voice while lifting my chin up to him a bit more. My eyes widened and a blush crept up to my cheeks. I didn't know what to say, I was speechless. What am I supposed to say?
He chuckled at my shocked expression and said to me, "Are you surprised, Little One?"
"More than anything," I managed to breath out. He chuckled again and removed his hand from my chin, leaving me missing the warmth it gave me. "If I may ask, why do you call me Little One?" I tilted my head to the side. !
"Because that's what you are, my Little One. Why, would prefer me to call you by name?" his smile seemed to falter a bit.
"No, I was just curious is all," I replied to him while shaking my head.
He smiled at me again, making me blush even more. "May I ask you a few more questions?", I suddenly asked him.
"Of course Little One, but let's go somewhere more private to do so," he told me as he gently took my hand in his and led me somewhere. I have to say, feeling his hand in mine. It felt rather... right, like we were meant to do this. They also fit pretty nicely together, like they could mold into one. I soon then realized where we were.
It was an odd looking room, with twenty different screens all showing different angles of the haunted house. "What is this place?" I asked him as he stared at the screens.
"The security room, it's where the staff go to check up on the people inside the haunted house. Now, what was it you wanted to ask me?" he looked back to me.
"Oh! I wanted to ask you exactly why you can't tell me your name. I mean, I get that you're worried I'll tell and get you arrested and I totally understand. I just feel like there's a deeper reason behind it," I replied with an innocent smile.
He looked away and casted his gaze to the floor. "If you don't want to, I understand. You don't have to-" he suddenly put a finger to my lips and shook his head.
"No, I think you deserve an explanation," he removed his finger and closed his eyes. He sat down in one of the spinny chairs and motioned for me to sit in the one next to him. I went over to the open seat next to him and sat down, waiting for him to begin his story. He took a shaky breath and began,
"A few years back, I met a young lady named Mai Valentine. She was sweet and very beautiful. I visited her often, over the course of just a few months I had begun to fall in love with her. I trusted her, but she betrayed that trust. One night after I visited her, she asked me what my real name was. Not knowing her true intentions, I stupidly told her and she claimed to like it but really, she had just what she needed to turn me in. The following morning I read on the news that she had told the police and even went to a sketch artist. Luckily for me, my brother told me my mistake and I got my name changed the night before she did it. However, they do still have my face so I do need to be careful. And so do you, we look very similar so they might mistake you for me."
It took me a while to process everything he just told me but I managed to do it. I could see him close to tears, "Well I promise you, I won't ever tell. I also don't even want to know your name, as long as I know you'll be there for me I'm happy."
He smiled at me, "Thank you, Little One"
"May I know what you're name was before you changed it? Not your one now, but your birth name," I asked hopefully.
He seemed to think about it, "No, I'd much rather you not know..."
I was a little disappointed, but even so I still smiled. "That's okay, you can tell me whenever you're ready," I told him.
He looked at me with a grateful look, "You know Little One, you truly are something else."
I just giggled, "Is that why you protect me?"
"It's one of the many reasons of why I protect you," I giggled again. We then began staring at one another, peering deep into each other's eyes. It almost seemed like he was looking at my very soul, and his smile said he approved.
I got lost in his gorgeous crimson orbs, they seemed to hide so much and yet show the whole universe. "Little One, has anyone ever told you that your eyes shine brighter than a thousand stars? Because they do," I smiled wider and blushed a bright, ruby red.
"Well, has anyone ever told you that that's the cheesiest line ever?" he chuckled at my words.
"Touché Little One, touché," I giggled once more as well. After some time, we decided to look for the others.
We began to search through the different monitors and cameras, until we found out that they were all somehow conveniently on the same floor. We looked through the many halls and rooms until we had to go our separate ways to get to where we needed to be. All in all, it was a fun day. I learned a bit about the Pharaoh which is what we agreed on calling him. I also found out that the person he came here with is his older brother. I really liked the time I spent with him, he seems really nice...
What happens next? Will Yugi tell the gang about Yami? Will Yami tell Atemu about Yugi? And what was Yami's real name before he had to change it?
