Last time on In Love with a Killer:

He took out the next two by snapping their necks and the last he threw against the wall so hard the poor boy probably puked up more than half of the blood in his body. After he was finished, he drew a large Eye of Horus symbol on the floor with the blood and licked away any excess of the red liquid still on his fingers...

Chapter Eight: When Rubies Meet Amethysts part 3

I just sat there, too stunned and shocked to move. How he was able to move so fast puzzled me to no end. 'Is he even human?', this thought continued to rattle my mind for some time before I realized he had disappeared. Out of thin air, and all that was left behind was a cloud of black smoke. I shakily stood up and stumbled my way out of that alley. I walked home slowly, and with so many questions raging through my mind.

Once I finally got home, I didn't really know what to do. I walked into the kitchen to see that it was completely clean, but how? He must've cleaned it up for me, how sweet of him. I never really noticed it before, but I just remembered. I don't even know this guy's name, just that he ironically calls himself "The Nameless Pharaoh". Although I also just remembered that he is the murderer, he must be worried that I'd blab his name and get him arrested.

But why in the world would I do that? I mean sure, he killed my grandpa and all, but he had good reason. My grandfather was a criminal and frankly, I'm kinda glad he's gone. He's also saved me from being beaten to a bloody pulp, twice. I'd say those are some pretty good reasons to keep him a secret, besides... he's kinda hot... wait, what?

Just then, the doorbell went off. So I went up to the door and peered out the window to see who it was, and I was actually really hoping it was him. Sadly, it was not. Just my friends school, I wonder what they're doing here? I opened the door for them. "Hey guys, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"We just came to make sure you were okay, you seemed really down after you told us about what happened to your grandpa", Téa said while the others nodded in agreement.

"Well you guys don't have to worry about me, I'm okay. A little shaken up, but I'll manage," I said to them.

"Good, because I've got a date in 20 minutes," Tristan explained to us before dashing away.

"Huh, dat's odd. Dat's exactly what my sister, Serenity, told me before I left," it took the blonde a few seconds before he eventually caught on, "Tristan! You lyin' scoundrel!" Joey exclaimed to the brunette who had already turned a corner and was out of sight. Joey then mumbled something under his breathe before turning to me.

"Well, Yugi. Are ya gonna let us in or what?", Téa asked with a soft smile and playful look in her eyes. I saw no other choice, plus it was a little lonely now with just me. So I opened up the door wider to let the two in. And almost instantly after they had stepped in, Joey sniffed at the air and yelled, "Cookies!" He ran into the kitchen leaving Téa and I to chase after him. We were able to stop him before he ate one.

We held him back and sat him down in a chair, he struggled to get out of our grip but we were able to keep him seated. When he stopped thrashing around, Joey had noticed a note on the table beside the plate of cookies that I was also just now noticing. Which brings a question to my head, where did these cookies come from? I know I didn't bake them, and grandpa surely didn't, so who did? The only other answer was... him, but wait then that would mean... he wrote me another note!

Realizing this, I snatched up the note before Joey could even lay a finger on it and held it close to me and away from him. "Aye Yugi, do you know who gave you dat note?" Joey asked me. He must've seen it was to me and from somebody else, I just hope he didn't read too much.

"Um... yeah," I didn't really know what to say. How was I supposed to tell my friends about him? Or should I even tell them at all? I really didn't know.

"Well, who's it from Yuge?", my blonde friend proceeded.

I bit my lip and tried to avoid my friend's gaze. "Well Joey... I-I can't tell you guys... it's a secret..." the two looked at me confused but thankfully dropped it.

"Can I have one, please Yuge? Pretty please?!" Joey looked at me with pleading puppy dog eyes which made me sigh. I couldn't say no to him and that look even if I tried so I gave him one which made him smile with glee and take it before biting into it quickly.

I offered one to Téa but it appeared see didn't want one. "Oh my god, Yuge! Dese cookies are delicious, what's ya secret?!" Joey exclaimed.

"Actually Joey, I didn't bake these. The person who sent this note must've also been the one who gave them to me," I replied calmly even though I was so frazzled on the inside.

"I guess it was some kind of secret admirer then, huh Yugi?" Téa pointed out while giving me the 'It so is and you know it' look. I felt my face deepen to a bright pink color.

Now that's something to think about, what if these notes and these cookies did come from someone who isn't the murderer? What if the person who's been doing these things for me is a totally different person? That would explain why he would go to such lengths to keep me safe, only someone who's really in love with me would do that. Not to mention he doesn't use his real name when he sends me all these letters, just like a secret admirer.

Another thing, the killer doesn't seem to be someone who would bother with something like love. What if the person who is sending me these letters is just pretending to be the killer and isn't exactly sorry, but really feels sorry for me? Wow... that's a lot to take in. I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed a hand being waved in front of my face and someone calling my name as I returned to reality.

"Hello? Anyone dere?" Joey keep waving at my face until I swatted it away.

"I'm here, Joey. Sorry about that, I was spacing out," I stated to him with a soft sigh.

"Ya sure you're okay, Yuge? Ya seem really outta it," Joey said with concern in his voice.

I nodded my head, "Yes Joey, I'm fine. You don't have to worry. Look guys, can I have the day alone today? I have a lot of stuff to think about and get through. You guys can even have the cookies if you like," I told them while rubbing my forehead.

The two looked at each other and nodded at me before Joey took the plate of cookies and left out the front door with Téa, leaving me to really think over what I truly knew about this supposed "Nameless Pharaoh". Just then, I realized that I hadn't even read the note yet. Knowing this I brought the little pink note to my eyes, wait pink? All the others were just regular sticky notes, why is this one pink? Hopefully, it explains why in the note because right now, I'm super confused:

Dear Little One,

I realized that you may not truly trust me, so I decided to give you a little gift. I hope you enjoy them, I worked pretty darn hard so you better. Anyway, just so you know I'm not doing this because I like you or anything like some secret admirer or something. I'm only doing this to show you that you can put your full trust into me.

Signed with a heart,
The Nameless Pharaoh

I smiled at the note, what was I thinking? What do those two know about him? I'll tell you, nothing, nada, zilch. It was silly to think that, just plain silly. Suddenly, I got an idea. What if I wrote him a message? Then we could talk to each other without having to actually meet, since he seems to be a bit... shy. Alright it's settled then, I'll write him a letter about my plan and if he agrees then well, yay. It'll be so great, but he has to agree... I really hope he does...

What will happen next? What will Yugi write? Why did Yami give him those cookies? And will I ever stop with these stupid questions?! No, never~
