The Escort (AU) Part 4

A/N: (finally) some smut; Lena G!P if you haven't figured that out by now. Maybe the last part? Maybe not? We shall discover together. Definitely the longest section yet. Enjoy :)

For the rest of the night at the Gala, Lena and Kara stick together. Some Edge supporters will never be swayed because they stand to make money if he wins the election, but Lena is able to make progress with some that still have a moral compass. Some agree to keep their checkbooks firmly in their pockets. Edge grows more and more frustrated with Lena's presence. He only invited her to mock her. He didn't really think she would attend.

Lena and Kara move to the dance floor with the live classical band. Not many are out at the dance floor, which leaves them plenty of space to move around. They dance together through several waltzes and tangos together. Lena leads, and only a couple times does Kara need to alter her movements due to the length of her dress. As they break from the floor, they realize that many of the guests were watching them the entire time, enraptured by their movements and chemistry.

Kara and Lena giggle the entire time getting to the bar. Once they get their drinks from M'gann, Edge approaches them again, enraged.

"How dare you?!" Edge roars.

Lena takes a protective step to place herself between Edge and Kara. Her entire demeanor shifts into stone cold CEO in the blink of an eye. "How dare I what?"

"You come to MY party, and convince MY guests to not donate?!"

"You were the one that gave me an invite, Edge," Lena says full of venom.

"When I win this election you will be ruined. You are just a sad, pathetic, lonely, little girl that is way out of her depth. There is no way that this blonde bimbo is your girlfriend, Luthor."

There was a loud crack that caught everyone's attention. Edge's face was turned left with a red welt on his cheek. Lena just backhanded Morgan Edge at this own Gala event.

Lena grits her teeth and goes so quiet, which is more menacing than if she actually yelled, "You can say whatever you want about me, but you will not insult my girlfriend."

Lena pulls Kara to leave the party and it takes several steps for her to realize that her mouth is still open from shock. "L-Lena!"

Lena halts them both in the foyer where both the paparazzi and the other guests can't see them. Her mind starts running rampant. She didn't even think about Kara's reaction when she hit Edge. What would her "girlfriend" think? Would she be upset? Would she just see Lena as another violent Luthor? Lena starts to panic.

"Th-that. Was... AMAZING!" Kara exclaims and giggles.

Lena lets out a breath that she didn't realize that she was holding. Her hands start shaking at the scene that just unfolded in front of National City's richest leaders. Kara sees her hands shaking and moves to hold Lena's hands and sees her hiss and flitch.

"Oh my goodness, Lena! Did you hurt your hand?!" Kara quickly brings up Lena's hand to inspect for any injury. Lena's knuckles are red from hitting Edge's face so hard but doesn't appear broken or seriously injured. Kara gently kisses each knuckle, and Lena blushes in response.

"K-Kara, I'm so sorry. Rage just came over me, I-I'm so sorry," Lena whispers with tears in her eyes.

"Why are you apologizing, babe? Edge is the one who should be apologizing."

"I-I hit him though. I resorted to violence, just like everyone in my family."

Kara suddenly understands. During her studying of Lena's life for this, Kara did read about her step-mother, Lillian, and her brother, Lex. Both have done terrible things that hurt  so many citizens of National City. They just never talked about it and what Lena thought about it all.
