"I don't care. We are not going to tell her!"

"Because she needs to focus on her own health!"

"You absolutely do not get to make that call!"

The quiet yelling eventually pulls Lena out of her sleep. She lets out a heavy sigh in frustration. She can tell it's serious in nature, and a part of that fact raises a red flag in her mind. The other part tells her not to care. There are bigger issues she needs to deal with. When she's had enough, she flings back the covers and gets up to storm out and tell them off about being so loud. That red flag makes itself known again. Her hand freezes on the handle of her bedroom door. She takes a moment to press her ear against it, waiting to see if she can figure out what the hell has them so riled up. Sam's easy to hear, but she can't tell what Alex saying at all.

"She's my best friend. Your sister chose me to look after her for a reason. I'm not going to let you derail Lena's healing for Kara's benefit! You don't even know what happened to her to make her crash land."

Lena's heartrate ticks up. It's hard to hear over the rushing of her own blood in her ears. Crash land? Kara? Is she okay? Was she attacked? Lena feels the room spin. She feels lightheaded and disoriented. She leans heavily into the door to steady herself on her feet. Not again.

"Lee? Honey, I need you to move away from the door?" Sam's voice is clearly panicked.

Lena tries to step away, but it's like her legs turn to jello. She slides down the door to the floor. She can feel the door shake from the panicked knocking on the other side. She feels the door bite into her back as it cracks open with grunted effort.

"Lena? Lena, can you hear us?" Alex voices filters through this time.

Lena opens and shuts her mouth, but she isn't able to get any sound out. She feels like she's nearly drowning. She can't take a breath in. The pressure on her chest intensifies. God, she is sick of this feeling. She's sick of not having control, of feeling so powerless inside her own body.

Alex rams her shoulder into the door a few times until she is able to get is open just enough to let Sam slip through. The CFO carefully takes Lena's face in her hands as she crouches down to be eye level.

"Lee, honey? Can you hear me?"

"Move her away from the door so I can get in!" Alex shouts.

Sam does a cursory once over just to make sure Lena didn't hurt herself in this process. After making sure that Lena is physically unharmed, Sam loops her arms under Lena's to pivot her against the wall instead of the door. "Okay! You can come in now."

Alex rushes in and falls to her knees in front of Lena. She feared the worse when they heard the thump from the kitchen. She thought that maybe Lena did something stupid at the first chance of being unsupervised. Alex breathes a sigh of relief to find that it's another panic attack. It's concerning that she is going through so many in such a short amount of time, but it's also normal that her body is trying to protect itself in processing everything.

"Lena? Can you look just past my ear?" Alex grabs a penlight from her pocket. She feels more relief when Lena follows her instruction. It means she can hear and follow the commands. She's just having a hard time getting her body to obey her thoughts. Alex flicks the lights to confirm that Lena's pupils are reactive and normal.
