"It's over! Let me save you!"

"Saved? By a Kryptonian? I'd rather die." Lex unlocks his forearm armor to slip out of Supergirl's grip.

Kara floats above, watching Lena's brother free fall until a cloud of dust and debris erupts from the ground. Supergirl swallows heavily. This day has had too many losses. This day has been too hard. She pinches a smile on her face because all the aliens that Agent Liberty was rounding up are now free and applauding her. It may be a day of losses, but at least they won in the end. She takes a deep breath and feels the energy from Red Daughter flow through her. Watching herself die... it forces a chill to run down her back. As much as she wants to grieve and process, she can't. She still has battles to fight.

Kara flies off to the DEO to debrief and plan their next move. The big fight as Supergirl may be over, but Kara Danvers still has a lot of work to do. She uses her superspeed to finish her report, exposing the President for working with Lex Luthor. She exposes that Red Daughter was groomed by Lex and used to turn the public against her. She reveals everything that she feasibly can. When she finally goes to Catco to check in on Nia and James, she can breathe a sigh of relief. Alien Amnesty is back in place. She is no longer the United States' most wanted. Lex's planned have been dismantled."

That last thought forces a red flag in her mind. Lena. She should check in on Lena. While James continues talking, she lets her ears wander. She breathes a sigh of relief; she can hear that steady thudding. Maybe Lena hasn't seen the footage yet from Shelley Island. Maybe she doesn't know her brother is dead. Kara - well, Supergirl - should be the first one to tell her... and to apologize. Despite Lex's last words, Kara feels like she should have saved him. Just like she should have saved Red Daughter. Her smile starts to slip in front of James and Nia, and the exhaustion sinks into her bones. It's been a long, long day, and it's not over yet. She should just go. It's late - late enough that she can hear Lena's heartbeat at her home instead of L-Corp. She needs to tell Lena.

Kara politely excuses herself and dodges all the questioning looks from her friends. "I'll- I'll see you guys at J'onn's for game night!"

Supergirl takes off from Catco's helipad. She tunes into Lena's heart again. Somethings off though. It's erratic, slowing down. She hears a quiet 'goodbye.' Supergirl's brows furrow. That beautiful, beautiful heartbeat is barely there. Supergirl breaks the sound barrier. She rushes to Lena's penthouse, internally panicking that the heartrate is barely there. She has to resist smashing through those windows, only because she fears it would hurt the woman instead of help her.

Lena.

Kara comes into a gruesome, bloody scene. It makes her pause. It makes her gasp and clasp her hand in front of her mouth. It makes her tear up. Lena, slumped against the window, paler than her usual, drenched in crimson. The piece of glass she used is smudged in bloody handprints and resting on top of a her thigh. When she hears that thud, she realizes that it didn't have another one. Adrenaline overtakes her initial panic.

"No, no, no."

Kara scoops up the woman quickly into her arms. She takes off, going as fast as she can without damaging Lena any further. She rushes her to the DEO and uses her bluetooth to call in Alex.

"Alex! Alex! Lena - she, she..."

"Supergirl? What's wrong?"

Kara can barely contain her panic attack. She needs to save her. She can't lose her. "Lena..."

"Supergirl, I need to know what's going on."

"Bleeding out."

"What?!"
