CESAR DIAZ POV

NEXT DAY

Alexa, Jamal, Ruby, Chloe, and I are all walking to school together. It's a little weird being Ruby and Jamal's friend again. I'm still not used to it.

Jamal doesn't seem to care about me cheating. He hates Monse. But Ruby...I can tell that he still hates me deep down which makes no sense. The one who he should be hating is Monse, not me.

What's also weird is the fact that Ruby seems to be super close to both Alexa and Chloe now. That literally happened overnight. Not even Jamal is that close to them.

I noticed that Alexa and Ruby's friendship bloomed after the whole Monse locker situation yesterday. Which is why I have my suspicions that they're behind it.

"So did you guys hear about Monse's locker?" Chloe asked us. "Someone wrote Dick Hopper on it."

"Gee, I wonder who," Alexa commented and I can hear the sarcasm in her tone.

"Definitely not me!" Ruby blurted out.

Mhm.

Chloe spoke again. "Well I know you're happy, Alexa. Someone is finally giving Monse a taste of her own medicine."

Alexa flipped her hair. "As they should. She's such a crazy bitch, pouncing on me for nothing."

But was it for nothing though? Because Monse doesn't target anyone unless provoked. Maybe Alexa writing that message on her locker provoked her? Why else would Monse go straight for her?

Then Alexa caressed my cheek and a part of me wants to move her hand, but I didn't. "Is your face okay baby? Latrelle didn't hurt you, did he?"

"He got a couple of good hits in, but I did too."

Jamal shook his head angrily. "Man, get Oscar on his ass at this point! Latrelle has got to go!"

I refused. "Na, Latrelle isn't tough. I can handle him on my own."

And I'm also not involving Oscar because I feel like I don't know the whole story. Maybe Monse had every right to fight Alexa and I shouldn't have tried to get involved.

Jamal changed the topic. "Whatever. Monse is old news. I have no sympathy for her since she wanted to do us dirty."

"As you shouldn't," Alexa commented once again.
