I skipped down the sidewalk as Latrelle walked beside me. I'm just so damn happy today. "It's a beautiful day today, isn't it Tyler?"
Latrelle matched my energy. "It sure is, Finnie. The atmosphere doesn't reek of Shawn."
We laughed hard and I actually snorted because that was really funny. And only Coop, Latrelle, and I will understand why that's so funny.
"I honestly feel like all of the life has been sucked back into me! Shawn was so draining!" I said.
Latrelle agreed. "He sure as fuck was. No wonder why Coop is sleeping in. But thank you, Monse."
"For what?"
"For being by my side throughout this whole crazy ass situation. You could've hightailed it away from me once I told you that I wanted to kill Shawn, but you didn't."
Of course I didn't. "What kind of friend would I be if I just left? You helped me when I was at my lowest, Latrelle. I had to return the favor."
"And I'm so thankful for that," Latrelle replied. "And you know, I've known Coop since I was young and I've only known you for weeks, but I can already tell that you're more loyal than she will ever be."
I gave him a weird look. "Woah."
"I still love Coop, but I'm just stating facts. And you and I working alongside each other like this has got me realizing something."
I already know what he's gonna say. "That you like me? Because you don't have to tell me that. I already know. And I like you too, for the record."
"Yeah that kiss said it all."
I blushed hard. "Oh shut up! You kissed me first!"
"And you kissed me back!"
"Oh whatever! It was in the moment! I thought that you were going to die or end up in jail, and I'd never see you again!"
Latrelle stopped walking. "Well I'm standing right here, so now what?"
"Well if you want me to kiss you Latrelle, you can just say that."
"Na. I'll just do this instead."
And then he took the initiative to kiss me first and of course I kissed him back, but can I just say something? Latrelle's boldness is an absolute turn on.
