From Another Time

Chapter 15

The team suited up again. Normally they wouldn't rush into a second mission in one day but we figured that'd be exactly what Hydra expects. As of right now, Hydra has no idea we're after Bucky.

"Alright, team, we're gonna make our way into the building. There's gonna be a lot of Hydra guards so stay alert and stay safe. Bucky is bound to be in there." Steve explained to everyone. "Once we're in Y/n will throw the mechanical handcuffs on him, they should be strong enough to hold him."

"Of course they are I made them." Tony snarked.

We arrived at the location and wasted no time breaking straight into the building. Nat and I took out the guards by the door. We split up into groups, Nat, Steve, and I went down the hall on the left while Thor and Tony went right. There were so many hallways it was hard to keep track of where we've been and where we haven't.

"It appears to be mostly weapons down here." Thor informed.

"Keep searching, remember they called him a weapon they very well might keep him there" I whispered. "I'm not expecting them to treat him with dignity or respect."

Finally, we approached a door to our right. It appeared to be a lab, we peeked into the large window next to the door, trying to avoid being caught to make it a quick and simple mission. I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Guys, we've found him." I whispered. Bucky was strapped to a table as they repaired his mechanical arm. He seemed to have zero emotion across his face.

"Do not do anything until we're closer Sister," Thor advised. "I wish to keep you out of harm's way."

"Yeah by my map it looks like we're about as far away from you guys as we can get while still being in the building," Tony informed me as he used the tracking from his suit. "Just wait for us so we have a better chance."

"I'm going in" I ignored my brother and Tony's advice. I'm not sure why my brother truly expected me to listen. If I was good at listening I wouldn't have found my Bucky, and now I'm going to not listen so that I may save him.

"Wow, you sure have the best siblings." Tony joked.

I stood up straight and opened the door, quickly throwing my knives at two of the scientists. Natasha came in with Steve and immediately began combat with the others. I peeked at Bucky during the fight and saw him trying to get off the table but I knew helping him off would surely mean our deaths.

After taking out a few more guards with even more running in Bucky broke loose. He paused and I looked him in the eyes, I was frozen, I was looking at my Bucky face to face and up close for the first time in over half a century, however, I knew by his face that this wasn't truly my Bucky at the moment.

I quickly threw the handcuffs but he caught them with his metal arm and crushed them like they were nothing. In a quick flash, Bucky jumped to me and held my throat against the wall with his metal arm.

"Who are you?! How did you get here?!" He questioned as he raised me closer to the ceiling.

"I'm yours, Bucky." I breathed struggling. "And I will always find you, we promised each other." Buckys eyes widened and he froze as I reached up and grabbed a pipe from the ceiling breaking it off and hitting Bucky on the head, hard enough to knock him out. I then helped finish off the guards right as Tony and Thor arrived.

With the guards beat and Bucky unconscious, I quickly picked him up from under his arms and began dragging him out. "Oh yes thank you so very much for saving me brother I appreciate the protecting." I joked sarcastically. "And Tony as you can see your tech worked great."

"We tried to get here Y/n but we were opposite of you," Thor explained. "I told you to wait."

I laughed at my brother as he assisted me with bringing Bucky back to the jet. Quickly flew back to the tower to get Bucky in the cell before he woke up.

"Y/n looks like you have some bruising to your neck, mind if I have a look?" Bruce asked as we returned.

"On your neck?!" Loki shouted. "He choked you didn't he? Yet you claim to live this man and you still saved him? He is a danger, sister, and a threat to you no doubt. I should've been there, I should've-"

"Brother. That is enough. Leave her be." Thor demanded as he placed his arm around my shoulder, I flinched from the previous cut on my arm still having the fresh stitches. "Dr. Banner, please have a look at her for me make sure she has no broken bones." Bruce nodded his head. 

"Well it's tender here, but that's expected after having Vibranium to your throat attempting to squeeze the life out of you." Bruce paused. "So you think you can help him? This Bucky guy?"

"I don't know but I sure as hell am gonna try. I saw it in his eyes that he knows me, which gives me hope that he'll remember soon enough, especially without Hydra interference." I explained to him.

Bruce looked up at me and smiled. "Well good news is no broken bones and your stitches haven't pulled out so you're set to go and hang out."

"Bruce, can you do me a favor?"

"Of course. What is it?"

"Place this in his cell for him to find when he wakes up, I think it may help." I removed my locket with my ring and handed it to him. "I'd do it myself but I think I need to calm Loki down before I go by Bucky.

"I can do that Y/n." Bruce sighed. "I'll notify you when he's awake."
