"How ya feelin' Buck?" Steve asked.
"You gotta be honest with me Steve." Bucky paused to take a deep breath as he trembled. "Did I do that to her? Her arms all stitched up and her throats bruised black and blue. Was it me? I- I mean I just had her against the wall because I didn't even recognize her Steve. You gotta tell me if I did all that to her."
Steve sighed as Bucky looked up into his eyes pleading an answer. "Bucky. Whatever happened that wasn't you. It wasn't your fault." Steve answered hesitantly.
"But I did it didn't I?" Bucky asked again. Steve turned and looked where he knew I was before turning back to Bucky and nodding his head. "My doll..... Oh my poor Y/n"
"Bucky that wasn't you ok. This is you now. Don't beat yourself up for things you had no control over." Steve advised.
They paused in silence for a moment while Bucky held my necklace, moving it between his fingers. Bucky looked down at the necklace. "I see you gave her the ring." He let out with a slight smile.
"Took me 70 years but yeah I did it." Steve chuckled.
"How's she still alive by the way? I thought she'd just about on her deathbed after this long." Bucky asked.
"I'm not sure that's my place to say-" Steve started as he peered in my direction before I interrupted.
"It's ok Steve he can know. I want him to know." I informed him.
"Well, Buck I'm sure you'll be proud to know you're dating a goddess." Steve chuckled. Bucky scoffed at him.
"We'll come on now you didn't need to tell me that, I already know." Bucky smiled.
"Not like that Buck." Steve chuckled and I smiled at the comment. "Y/n is literally a goddess. She's the daughter of Odin, she's Thor and Loki's sister. She can manipulate like nature and trees and stuff. It's pretty cool, you should see it in action sometime." I appreciated that he didn't tell Bucky about me using my abilities on him in combat, he already has a lot to process he doesn't need all of it at once.
"Well if she's a powerful goddess why did she leave?" Bucky had every right to question that. I disappeared without a trace. Never got to say goodbye. Quickly I made my way to the door and opened it, I threw myself towards Bucky hugging him with my left arm around his neck, still wary of using the right arm, as I teared up. He paused and stood completely still.
"I'm so sorry Bucky. I wanted to say goodbye. I tried." He wrapped his arms around me. "My father found my journal, in it I wrote of my time with you on Midgard, in Brooklyn. My father found out I was going there alone, unarmed, and falling in love with you, he didn't want to stand for it, claiming to be concerned for my safety. He took everything from me, not being allowed to see you hurt me so much. The only reason I'm allowed here again is that my father thinks you are dead. I was devastated when I lost you"
"Well I'm not going anywhere darling, remember I will always find you." Bucky smiled. "Also, just for the record, you were very well protected."
"Y/n we should rest we've kinda had a long day, you know with the whole 2 missions," Steve explained. "Plus Banner might want a check-up on you before going to bed."
"I know Steve I will I just want some more time." I said holding on to Bucky, I felt him drop his arms and looked up to his sad and pained face. Steve walked out the door and Bucky and I sat on the ground next to each other.
"You're not safe with me, are you?" Bucky asked.
"Don't do that to yourself Bucky." I sighed. "I'll go talk to Stark about a bed for you. Goodnight Buck." I stood up and left the cell, I peeked back and saw Bucky hunched over with his head in his lap.
