From Another Time

Chapter 18

I wake up and immediately went to go see Bucky. He's been in the cell for a few days now but we think he's stable enough after some monitoring to finally get out. I stop at the kitchen first where I see Steve drinking some coffee. "Good Morning Y/n. What ya up to!" He asked me.

"I'm getting Bucky some breakfast and coffee. Pretty soon I won't have to bring him his meals and he can sit with all of us." I smiled brightly as I poured two bowls of cereal and two cups of coffee. I placed them on a tray and headed for Bucky.

I start approaching the cell and I see Banner and Stark flustering with the controls for the cell. "What the hell's going on?!" I shouted. I set down the tray and ran towards them to see what was going on.

"Y/n thank god you're here, it's your brother" Bruce shouted. "We can't open the cell!"

I looked in and saw Loki with Bucky. "You hurt her!" Loki scolded.

"If you're going to kill me just do it already!" Bucky shouted.

"Oh trust me I will!" Loki grabbed Bucky by the throat and lifted him off the ground. Quickly I focused on the tricks that Loki had taught me as a child and teleported into the cell placing myself between Loki and Bucky.

"Brother! Enough!" He dropped Bucky to the ground. "You know very little of what you're even angry about."

"Y/n do you see your throat, your arm! He held you against the wall!" Loki shouted. "How could you love a man who has tried to kill you?! You cannot be safe with him!"

"I am safe." I snarled.

Loki looked down at Bucky who was catching his breath at my feet and Bucky looked back up at him. "How could you claim to love her while you scar her skin?" He snarled at him.

"I know what I've done. I hate myself every minute for the pain I've caused her." Bucky took a deep breath. "But I do love her, with every bit of my soul I love her."

Loki continued glaring down at him. "Leave Loki." I demanded but he did not react. "Now."

"If you wish sister." Loki turned around and left the cell as I dropped down to Bucky.

"Are you alright my love?" I asked him

"I'm fine, a little bit of pain but I'll be alright" he stood up and sat himself down on his bed. "I take it that was your brother? I don't blame him."

"Loki has a short temper. He's very protective over me," I sighed and sat next to him. "He means well he just can't handle his own anger."

I jumped up and ran out the cell door. Bucky smiled as I walked back in with our breakfast.  "Well, what's this?" He chuckled.

"Some breakfast for us of course." I smiled as I sat down with him to begin eating. "I would've brought it in right away but I had to deal with my brother first." We only took a few bites of breakfast when the cell doors opened.

"You guys are welcome to come to eat in the kitchen if you wish. Bucky you're free from the cell and, as long as you're both comfortable he's able to join your new room Y/n." Bruce explained.

"Thank you so much, Dr. Banner." Bucky smiled brightly as he stood up with his cereal and coffee.

We headed toward the kitchen and walked past Thor walking with Loki in handcuffs. "You've lied to me Y/n." He voiced calmly. "You told me I would not be caged."

"And you to me. You swore to harm no one." I sternly added. "You tried to kill him knowing my feelings for him."

Thor brought him to the cell and Bucky and I made our way to the kitchen to finish our breakfast. We set our bowls down and Steve turned around at us. He smiled and walked towards Bucky to hug him. "It's good to see ya, Buck." He smiled.

"You too Steve." Bucky smiled brightly at him. "I should probably give this back to you, my dear." He turned to me and handed me my necklace but I noticed something was missing.

"Bucky where's the ring? I had it on the chain and now it's gone where did it go? Did you drop it? Retrace your steps!" I panicked.

"Darling I didn't lose it." He reassured. "I've decided to hold onto it so that one day I can hopefully propose to you for real." He grinned.
