It was a warm morning on the island of Sodor. Though not every one was awake, a few selected engine’s were. The sun shined off the glass panels at Knapford as it glistened over a light green tender engine who, at the moment, was enjoying the warm sunny weather. It also helped that no one else was at the station yet so the peace and quiet was nice to them as they barely ever got it. It wasn’t until the sounds of a loud whistle awoke them from they’re peaceful moment.
“Henry what on earth are you doing sleeping at the station?! You didn’t sleep drive here did you?” a familiar light blue engine asked as Henry let his eyes adjust to the sudden bright sun slight. “No I didn't,I'm simply just waiting here until Sir Tophamm Hatt arrives to give us are jobs” Henry said looking over to see that it was Gordon who had pulled into the station. “I already know what job I'll be getting” Gordon boosted, rolling his eyes as the station office door opened.
Sir Tophamm Hatt stepped out of the office with a clipboard in hand as he approached the two tender engine’s. “Good Morning Sir!” Henry greeted softly smiling at him. “Hello Henry i'm glad you two are here today, I need the two of you to deliver some party supplies to the fair grounds for a Birthday Party” he informed. “A birthday party?! But Sir, am I not supposed to be taking the Express today?!” Gordon asked. “Oh i'm sure it won’t hurt you to take a goods train for once in a while Gordon '' Henry chuckled as Gordon huffed crossedly. “Well then it is settled now you two best leave now, the party starts at 1” Sir Tophamm Hatt said as the two whistled goodbye before leaving the station.
The two arrived at the town hall waiting to pick up the supplies. While waiting Henry was surprised to see that no one was here yet expect a few workers who was watering the flowers at the station they was in. The station almost looked exactly like Knapfords just a little bit smaller and a different color of maroon red and cream white. It wasn’t until a familiar whistle was heard followed by the sounds of flatbeds rattling that caught their attention. “Sorry i was late i didn’t expect you two to arrive this early” Charlie apologized before awkwardly chuckling.
“Is alright charlie besides we still have an hour before delivering this supplies anyway” Henry smiled. “I’d rather we hurry..” Gordon groaned as Henry chuckled. “We will” Henry giggled as he coupled up to the front of the flatbeds as Gordon coupled up to the back. “We’ll good luck! I hope the party goes well!!” Charlie smiled as the two whistled goodbye before leaving the station.
The two was on they’re way to the party, Henry was taking his time as Gordon was pushing ahead, more often then not bumping into the flatbeds. “Please Gordon this isn’t a race, slow down..” Henry worriedly said. “Im sorry Henry but i would really like it if we could hurry..” Gordon said. “Maybe if you actually slowed down for once and looked around you Gordon you might enjoy things for once” Henry huffed. Gordon fell silent, he knew that he had hurt Henry and needed to make up for it.
Along the way neither of them said anything, Gordon was afraid to hurt Henry more so he simply stayed quiet until they approached a red signal. Gordon noticed that not far back next to the signal was a beautiful yellow batch of Tickseeds. “Henry look at the lovely flowers, they look nice don’t they?” Gordon asked in hopes to lighten the mood. Henry spotted the flowers drifting softly in the wind next the the signal post as they danced with the grass. “They do look lovely” Henry softly awed. Gordon knew Henry liked all sorts of planets but he himself didn’t know many as he tried to keep a look out for any more they might come upon along the way. To his surprise they’re wasn’t many that grew along side the track.
It wasn’t until they arrived at the party did Gordon take it upon himself to properly apologize to Henry. Once the supplies was unloaded and set onto the picnic tables Gordon uncoupled from the back of the flatbeds and processed to switch tracks as he approached Henry from the other side. “Henry… i know what i said back there was uncalled for but…. I truly have no excuses for my actions…” Gordon apologized as he looked down at his buffers.
Henry chuckled “i forgive you Gordon.. And im glad that your now admitting your mistakes without having to make excuses for them..some times you just need to properly apologize before things get worse… thats all...” Henry said softly smiling at Gordon as the two made eye contact. “This is why i love you Henry…” Gordon softly smiled. Henry giggled “and this is why i can always put up with you” Henry chuckled as Gordon quickly started to blush from embarrassment. “Wh-what is that suppose to mean?” He quickly asked.
“Is just another way of saying i love you without having to say it now come on” Henry said continuing to chuckle a little as Gordon followed behind. “Where are we going?” Gordon asked. “Some where special don’t worry about it bossy boiler” Henry laughed a little. The two continued down the line as the wind made the trees and nature around them dance to the soft music through the wind. It wasn’t until they came to a very forested area covered in flowers did Gordon realize where they was at.
Henry slowed to a stop taking in the nature around him as Gordon slowly approached from the other side. “Henry why are we at your forest?” He softly asked. Henry paused not saying anything as his eyes was closed enjoying the nature and quiet as much as he could before answering. “Is just.. Nice coming down here alone enjoying the peace and quiet but… lately i've been meaning to bring you down here so we could enjoy it.. Together…” He said opening his eyes to look over at Gordon as they made eye contact once more. “So this is your special place?” Gordon asked as he looked around at the beautiful calm forest before him.
Henry hummed in response as he slowly yet softly leaned onto Gordon causing him to blush. The two sat there in silence as the wind made music with the forest around them as the warm sun shined onto them. “Henry… have i told you how much i love you?” Gordon asked looking down at Henry. Henry softly chuckled “you have.. And have i told you how much i love you?” Henry asked blushing softly. Gordon softly laughed “you have, almost all the time we meet…” he said nuzzling Henry. “Good..” Henry softly smiled as the two closed their eyes enjoying the moment while it lasted as the warm sun kept the two warm for the remainder of the time they was there.
(I apologize if these seems short i was some what running out of ideas for it but i promise that the next few won't be this short *hopefully* since i only have 2 and half weeks of school left I've been pushing it to not fail and i noticed my lack of posting fanficts/ stuff on here so I've been trying to work on new and old stuff while i can but like always i hope you have a Good Day/ Night!!)
