3rd Person POV

"Things just..." Midoriya deadly mumbled as the six Blackwhip tendrils from his back started moving around frantically, and Iida fearfully took a step forward, terrified he would flee again. "... can't go back to how they used to be. Not anymore—"

BAM!!!!

Midoriya fell onto his butt when lightning struck right in front of him, a blinding emerald colour. And when it struck the ground, the lightning disappeared into shredded pieces of paper that fell to the wet floor... and dissolved from the splattering rain.

"Of course they cannot."

Midoriya's heart froze... and everyone turned to face the harsh, feminine voice they knew all-too well.

Midoriya's fully white eyes stared at Vanessa, walking menacingly towards him with a Primordial Jade Winged-Spear drawing gripped in her right hand at her side.

... She looked... just as dead as him.

The green haired boy slowly moved his weak hands outwards, and slowly began to lift himself up off the ground—

Vanessa shoved her right heel against his chest and forced him back onto his back. With her foot placed on his chest, and her left foot planted right next to his torso, she pointed the tip of her spear right at his neck. He felt the sharp tip of the spear drawing press into his skin... but it wasn't pressed deep enough to cause him to bleed.

His completely white eyes stared up at her, his mouth still open like a zombie's. Earlier, when he had encountered her, he had been too far from her to make an assumption, despite her harsh words and demeanor.

But now that she was up-close... he finally realized...

This wasn't the Freitas he knew.

This was... someone different.

What had happened to her when he was away...?

He then noticed the maroon burn covering her left eyelid and left forehead. Sure, a large portion of it was masked by her forehead bangs, but it was still noticeable to anyone with eyesight.

"Oh, you poor, little thing." Vanessa stoically said as she dug her large heel into his chest, and his body flinched. Her eyes devoid of any emotion and shimmer glared down at him, her thick eyebrows furrowed, "You think running away will solve all your problems? Because it won't. It fixes nothing."

A soft, sharp gasp managed to escape Midoriya's open mouth.

He knew her well to know she was not only referring to him... but also herself.

The brunette ever-so slightly raised her chin, looking down on the boy under her foot as she gripped her spear drawing even tighter, her knuckles turning white. "What a disobedient, little child. You know... good things come to children who do as they're told."

She dug the tip of the spear further into his neck, causing a bit of blood to drip from the drawing—

... Her body suddenly froze in a purple hue.

Midoriya's head frantically looked to his right, white eyes staring into the sorrowful, pained amethyst eyes of his friend, Yui.

Miku ripped the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear drawing from her best friend's deadly grip and dropped it to the ground next to Midoriya, soaking up in the wet floor and dissolving. The blood on his neck was now slowly drying up.

Closing her hurt eyes, she focused her Quirk as she placed her purple-lit hand to Vanessa's frozen arm... and unfroze just her body functions, keeping the girl's Quirk and consciousness frozen.
