3rd Person POV

Todoroki and Vanessa sat in front of each other on the floorboards of his room, him on his knees while she sat with her legs criss-crossed and her head hung low. Her hands were laid out in front of her, though she never had a reaction to the intense stinging that surged from her boyfriend bandaging up the deep cuts across all her fingers.

When Todoroki had entered the dorms with his girlfriend in his arms, nobody actually noticed them since they were all too focused on the loud booming music and Eri's singing... even if they literally came out the front doors; It was the same reason why no one heard their cries and screams from outside. So it was very easy for him to sneak off to the elevator.

"... Was it predetermined?" Todoroki softly asked all of a sudden, and Vanessa's heart jumped at his words. He slipped off the bloodied heart ring around her left middle finger and placed it down on the floor next to him, a solemn look in his eyes, "Or was it a spur of the moment decision."

Vanessa glanced down at her middle finger that her boyfriend now began wrapping in bandages, her half-lidded eyes almost dead. "The first." She mumbled so emotionlessly... and Todoroki's heart tightened and his lips quivered. He had desperately hoped it was an impulsive decision.

Knowing his love planned this and contemplated this... hurt more than anything.

He discreetly bit his lower lip to stop his lips from quivering any more. He couldn't show weakness. Not now—

"I already told Spinner what he needed to hear... and then I relayed his words to Shoji." The brunette hushed so emotionlessly, as if she was once again that lifeless doll... even though her eyes devoid of any emotion still shimmered. "There was no reason for me to live anymore..."

"What about me?"

Todoroki had hushed so... genuinely. So much so that it made Vanessa glance away in embarrassment, her head still hung low. "All I could think was that nobody wanted me here... You were all being nice to me just because you didn't want to hurt my feelings... After all..." The smallest, most hurt smile filled her lips, "Who could love a monster like me."

Just having finished wrapping her middle finger, Todoroki lifted her hand to his lips and pressed a kiss to the bloody cuts littering her left ring finger. He painfully smiled at her, his lips a bit stained with her blood, "Me, you silly girl." He quickly licked his lips to get rid of the blood as he began wrapping her ring finger, "And remember what I told you. You're not a monster."

Vanessa finally glanced back at the boy bandaging her fingers to find his eyes locked with his task, though flooded with solemness. She felt her heart sting. With a blink, her eyes fell down to her right hand that wasn't bandaged up at all yet, and the blood that slowly leaked from her fingers and rolled down onto her palm and wrist.

"Shoto..." She mustered herself to say, her voice almost dead yet at the same time filled with pure sorrow, "I... I don't want to feel these things anymore..."  "I know." he hushed softly, his gaze never leaving his task before him.

"Did you really mean it...? When you said I was your hero...?" she asked, a sliver of fear creeping up in her emotionless voice. "I meant every word I said out there." he softly hushed once again upon finishing her ring finger and moving onto her pinkie.

"I truly wanted nothing more than death." she said emotionlessly, and Todoroki ignored the hurt stinging his heart, continuing to bandage her pinkie as she talked. "But when you held my cheeks and hands... when I felt your touch... and when you said all those things..." Her eyes began to slightly shake, flooded with the utmost sorrow and guilt, "I felt guilty for trying to k*** myself. Because it hurt you so much... and because you blamed yourself for my actions."
