Chapter 16: Locking Away Our Feelings

3rd Person POV

It was now the beginning of June.

Classes were set to begin tomorrow... alongside the graduation ceremony for the previous third years!

And since classes were just now starting, there definitely would be no Sports Festival this year... Since the event takes place in May and everyone is still recovering from the war.

All of Class A, the Todoroki family, and Chinatsu were aware that Vanessa killed One For All... and how she killed her cat to do so. However, they all swore to keep it a secret so she would never face charges.

Ever since that day, Vanessa has been unable to look at any cats. Two weeks ago, she and Todoroki encountered a cat on one of the sidewalks during their walk... and she had a major panic attack. And because of this, nobody dared to bring up the animal species in question around her.

Today was the first day Class A was back at the dorms after living at home since the war. However, Aoyama was the only one missing... and nobody had a clue where he was; Nobody could reach him.

Yes, living at the dorms was now voluntary, but they all enjoyed not only living right next to the school, but living all together as a class. Fortunately, they didn't have to move into a new dormitory because the sign above their building was now changed to: '2-A Alliance'

At one of the tables in the dining room sat five chatting teens all dressed in their home/casual clothes just like the rest of their classmates present within the building. Miku and Mina sat next to each other on one side of the table, with Kaminari sat across from Mina, Kirishima across from Miku, and Sero squished in between the two boys.

"So yeah, I might also be into emo chicks." Kaminari casually leaned onto his palm, his elbow resting on the table. Mina repeatedly nodded with a stern expression, collecting her personal data from his discussion on a TV show he was currently watching. Miku eyed her good friend suspiciously, before her attention was turned to her left when she heard footsteps.

"Hey, Tokoyami. How are you doing?" Miku waved to the bird boy walking past their table while her friends continued to chat. Tokoyami firmly nodded in reply as he continued to walk toward the kitchen, "Pleasant, thank you."

"Any series' you've been into recently, Sero?" Kirishima leaned backwards into his chair as he rested his hands on the back of his neck, looking at his pal to his left. Sero nodded in the redhead's direction, folding his hands in front of him over the table, "Well, I've been reading the Tokyo Revengers manga. Vanessa got me into it and she's even lending me her manga so I can read it."

"That's a good series. I love Chifuyu." Miku spoke up with a small smirk, and Sero eagerly nodded in response with a small smirk of his own, "Yeah, it is pretty good. Vanessa told me she loves Mikey. That's right, right?" Miku nodded.

"She owns the whole series?" Kaminari wholeheartedly asked with slightly widened eyes, and his four friends simultaneously nodded. "Yeah. I just got to the first, I guess, major death in the series and was pretty shocked by it." Sero chuckled with an embarrassed grin, and Miku snickered, knowing exactly what he was talking about and remembering how much it shocked and traumatized her.

Mina's eyes suddenly lit up, remembering something she had been meaning to ask her dear daughter. "Oh—! On that note." She spun towards Miku in her chair, placing her hand on the purple-grey haired person's shoulder and making her heart skip a beat at the sudden contact. However, Miku's heart skipped yet another beat when she was met with Mina's concerned gaze. "How're you and Bakugo doing? After everything with... you know."

"You two doing okay?" Kirishima chimed in as he lowered his hands back down to his lap. Kaminari rapidly nodded, his way of saying he was also concerned. "After what happened, I would understand if you somewhat weren't." Sero added with the tiniest head tilt.
