Special Chapter: Our Blue Butterfly

A trip back in time to another fight that took place during Chapter 9...

3rd Person POV

Ground Zero, Kanagawa Prefecture, Kamino Ward.

Shoto Todoroki intensely yet calmly stared at Toya Todoroki standing across from him, a cold breath escaping his slightly parted lips while his left foot emitted flames, his right foot generated ice, and his vest shot out gusts of air to regulate his body temperature.

"There are already so few Heroes left, and you're losing more by the minute! Let's see... We've got Nomu in a raging sea of fire." Dabi proclaimed, everything surrounding him burning down in a fire tornado of his own blue flames. From behind the radius of his fire tornado was a Near High-End Nomu, dwindling down the accompanying Heroes. And in addition, his flames spiraling from the fire tornado were spreading around Kamino.

Dabi leapt up onto the All Might statue behind him, hanging off the podium by holding onto the statue's lowered arm. "This is really bringing back memories... even if it wasn't that long ago. Seeing that battle in Hosu spurred me to take action, y'know?"

From in front of the tornado of blue flames, Iida cried Todoroki's name as panic swarmed his thoughts. That sheer heat! It's extraordinary! I can't get any closer, lest it ruins my engines!

Within the blue flames stood Todoroki and Endeavor's sidekicks Burnin, Onima, and Kido, who watched Dabi fly up into the air with gusts of flames emitting from his feet. "Whoops... sorry. Just yapping away to myself. Once again, he won't pay me any attention. It really bums me out that all I get..." Dabi spun towards the Heroes with his arms gracefully extended behind him in front of his chest, fingers extracted. "... is his third son and his three merry helpers. Is that really his answer to me?"

"You keep back, Kido. Your body's got no way to withstand the heat." Onima warned his fellow sidekick, who unwrapped a few bandages from his face so he could see this all clearly with his real eyes, "I'm good. You know I can alter the trajectory of anything... so I've just gotta make all that hot air swerve around me. Nothing new for me. Keep a cool head, and go about it logically. That's how I've done it for a whole decade. Just like always. I'm here to follow our main man's orders, because I want to."

"His family drama may be a can of worms, but Endeavor shows up and gets the job done, even if he does stink." Burnin sternly stated, "And that includes today! And now he's handed off us three junior stinkers to you! So you've got our full support, kid!"

"Thanks for that, Burnin!" Todoroki spoke up, making the girl smirk like her usual self, "No thanks needed! Save your energy!"

Turning back to his eldest brother, Todoroki sternly glared at his opponent. "Toya... Dabi... You've got it all wrong. I'm not here on anyone's orders. I'm standing here because I made the decision to stop you."

"Stellar job, being the perfect little pawn Dad always dreamed of." Dabi smirked, his skin that was not wrinkled and purple emitting off grey smoke.

"If I ignored you and kept trying to be a Hero anyway... that just might be true." the dual haired boy declared, which made his older brother scoff a chuckle with a slight head tilt. "Hey, fair enough... This war's all about the people involved. So it saddens me that Blue Butterfly of yours wasn't involved."

The teen boy's body stiffened at the mention of his love being in this fight, and Dabi's smirk slightly grew, liking that clear reaction. "It's not the mindless soldiers following orders who are the real movers and shakers. This is what happens when everyone's got feelings and urges that start firing off. Some wanna change the world they live in. Or destroy the warped imbalances built up over time that we all just came to accept. Behold, the limitations of a super-powered society." the white haired man smiled in content, thinking about not his blood family but rather the family he joined. "That's me. That's all of us."
