3rd Person POV

Todoroki shoved open the sliding door of the 2-A boys' sleeping quarters, where he and the rest of his male classmates were awaiting the arrival of the boys from Class 2-B. The sliding door hit the wall with a loud bang! before he swiftly closed it behind him just as he ran towards the side exit doors of the building, ignoring the calls for him from his classmates.

Just seconds ago, Todoroki received a text from Vanessa asking him to come outside not only because she needed him... but because she was also having harming urges.

Every time she suddenly messaged him these things, it terrified him. Even if he knew she was now reaching out for his help and no longer locking away all her feelings... it always terrified him of the possibility of her changing her mind before he could reach her.

He didn't want a repeat of the night of Aoyama's farewell party— There couldn't be a repeat of that night. After all, her sui**** attempt that night was pre-determined... so who could say that her brain couldn't easily make an impulsive decision to attempt to end her life once more.

Wherever she went, he would follow. No matter how fast she ran, he would never give up and continue to trail after her... to persevere and catch up to her.

He's always been chasing after her. And he would never stop.

With every step he took, he picked up a shattered piece of her heart, adding the tiniest shattered piece to all the miniscule pieces he carried in his bruised arms. And one day, he would no longer be chasing her... because he would finally reach her and reattach all those broken pieces.

Todoroki shoved open the side exit door and hastily stepped outside. The moment the door shut behind him did his eyes widen when they looked into those emerald eyes sparkling in the moonlight locked with the ground... tears rapidly spilling from their beauty.

Vanessa's chin was lowered to the ground, her tears rolling off her cheeks and plopping onto the dirt at fast rates. She had herself wrapped in her trembling arms, and her lips were quivering.

But then, her eyes shot open... when she felt those familiar arms wrap around her neck and those familiar lips press against the side of her head.

She quickly glanced up to her boyfriend holding her in a side-hug. His right hand was grasping the light brown hair on the back of her head, his left hand was clenched over her neck, and his lips placed the most gentle kiss to her temple. With a weak wince, she shut her watery eyes and held onto his left forearm with her trembling fingers, the blazing hotness of his left side sending comfortable tingles throughout her entire being.

"You did a good job." He hushed into her ear, his voice softer and sweeter than cotton candy. His hot breaths hit her ear, and it only comforted her body more. Releasing his grip around her neck, he swiftly caught her small hands in his much larger ones before they could fall back down to her sides. He grasped her entire hands in his, her hands disappearing within his, as he stared into her teary eyes... warmly smiling at her. "Instead of resorting to harming, you came to me. I'm proud of you, my love. It means you want to get better."

Vanessa glanced down, a few tears still falling from her eyes. "Shoto..." she mumbled, her insecurities taking hold of her and speaking for her. "Why am I your girlfriend...?"

... Todoroki blinked, and his eyes widened in bewilderment. He was so confused. "Because I love you?"

"Yes, but..." The brunette grumbled, her cheeks puffed in a pout. She still refused to make eye contact with him. "With our Hero work, school, and especially your tough family life... why did you even bother to put in the extra work for a relationship?"
