~Maybe It Was Never Meant To Be Pt.1~

Bio; Y/n and Namjoon got into a big fight. Which caused questioning for this relationship.

*Author's POV* Y/n and Namjoon were at a family party. Y/n's father wanted to congratulate Y/n on his big promotion. So, he got a party planned out. Of course, Y/n wanted Namjoon to join him but Namjoon believes that's not a good idea. "Why don't you wanna join me?" Y/n asked "Y/n, we may have been together for 2 years now, but your father never liked me, so coming to this party will not be a smart idea," Namjoon said "Joon, that's how my dad has always been, he's just being overprotective and hates seeing me grow up, he's like that with my other siblings as well. But I promise you, everything is going to be fine" Y/n said "Hmm, don't think so. But fine, I'll be there, but if something happens between me and your father I'm going home and you enjoy your party" Namjoon said. "Nothing is going to happen. I promise" Y/n said.

Skipping time later in the night, Y/n and Namjoon got to the party. Everything was going great so far, everyone was eating, drinking, and dancing. Namjoon was relieved because he hasn't seen Y/n's father. "Y/n, I thought I told you not to invite any friends, it's family members only" Y/n's father said. "Dad, we went over this for two years now, Namjoon is not a friend, he's my boyfriend, and you need to respect that," Y/n said "I just believe he's not for you, there are people out there who can actually take care of you," Y/n's father said "And what makes you think I haven't been taking care of Y/n? For two years I have been taking care of your son, I love and care for him every day, not everything has to be just about money. I buy him everything he wants, I get him to work, when he's sick I take care of him and get him better. I do everything and anything for your son" Namjoon said, he was sick and tired of dealing with the same thing every time.

Y/n's father only scoffs. "Pathetic, you're not the man I want my son to be with. You're nothing but an underpaid producer, with a dying career" Y/n's father said "You can never be enough for Y/n" Y/n's father said "Speaking of which. Y/n, how was that date I set you up with? I hope the date went well and I want you two to continue talking again. I feel like you two would be the perfect match" Y/n's father said. "What date? Did you go on a date behind my back? Are you fucking serious!?" Namjoon yelled "That's not true," Y/n said "But you told me you would go on that date, you promised me Y/n," Y/n's father said. Namjoon didn't say anything. He only left. Y/n quickly followed. "Namjoon just hear me out, I never went out on that date, I wouldn't do that to hurt you," Y/n said "So you lied to your dad telling him you would go on the date? For what? I thought you didn't care about what others think about us! I thought you would finally tell your dad that you want to be with me, when are you going to step up to him about us!?" Namjoon yelled

"I wish I could it's just not easy Joon! At this point, he never listens to me and no matter what I do, he'll try and set me up on dates with random guys, I never told him I would go. He just tells me to and expects me to go which I never went on any of the dates he set me up with" Y/n said. "Every time I go to see dad I tell him I want to be with you but I still get treated like some confused teenager, I don't what else to do Namjoon," Y/n said "Then tell him you want to be with me and if he can't support your decisions that's his own problem he needs to deal with. Because I'm tired of dealing with the same bullshit every time I step up to this man," Namjoon said "Maybe we were never meant to be, if your dad doesn't want us to be together so bad then let's give him what he wants" Namjoon said "What? No, I'm not gonna just give him what he wants, it's my love life" Y/n said "Then tell him that Y/n" Namjoon said and behind heading towards the car. "Where are you going?" Y/n asked "I'm going to a friends house for a few days until you figure somethings out with your dad, and if you can't do that then I'll be gone and you'll never have to see me again," Namjoon said and gotten into the car and drove off.

Then, Y/n felt a hand on his shoulder, "Don't worry Y/n, you'll find someone better" Y/n's father said which only caused Y/n to push his handoff. "Haven't you done enough, finally after two years you think you made him run off? I want to be with Namjoon and there is nothing you can do about it, no matter how many dates you set me up on I will never go to any of them. No matter how many times you tell me I'll find someone better. Namjoon is my boyfriend, and I'm glad to be with someone like Namjoon" Y/n said "And if you can't accept that, then don't bother to support me then, because I won't be around anymore if you can't support my decisions, I'm not a kid anymore dad" Y/n said "What do you mean? After everything I've done for you, this is the treatment I get? Some son" Y/n's father said. Y/n scoffs "Some father, how about instead of pushing choices onto your kids, how about you actually listen to them and let them make their own choices," Y/n said and also left and went home.
