*Author's POV* Hongjoong is in a pretty fucked up situation if he's being honest. If you're in a relationship and your lover is being toxic it's time to part ways. Hongjoong always told himself that until it came to Y/n. He always tried to convince himself that Y/n is a bad person and he needs to break things off with him. But when the time comes he only ends up back in Y/n's arms. It's like a spell. It's disgusting.

Y/n is a sick, manipulative, twisted asshole everyone warns them about and tells everyone to stay away from him. But Hongjoong didn't listen, he was rather curious about why Y/n had this bad title on his name. So he got to know Y/n and next thing before Hongjoong knew it, they started dating.

The first month of their relationship felt normal to Hongjoong. But then the next month things were starting to go overboard. It first started with Y/n's possessiveness, Hongjoong thought it was cute, but then the problem only started to build and build. To the point where Hongjoong wasn't allowed to speak with anyone and everyone wasn't allowed to speak to Hongjoong or Y/n would explode.

So Hongjoong let Y/n have his way just to avoid an argument and wanted to keep Y/n happy and smiling. But of course, things only started to get worse. Y/n's jealousy problems, then his controlling problems, and more. Hongjoong couldn't win in this situation at all.

The final straw was when Hongjoong found out Y/n cheated on him. Hongjoong was disgusted but he couldn't be surprised. "I think we should just break up, if you can't be happy or satisfied with me, then why bother staying with me," Hongjoong says. He thought at that very moment everything was over. "That's the problem with you Hongjoong, you never fight for our love you give up on it so easily you wonder why I do things like this behind your back. I never felt love from you. It always felt like I wasn't worth it to you" Y/n said

"What are you going off about? I do care about you a lot, but there are a lot of things you do that aren't normal for any person to do, and I'm not gonna just stay with someone who backstabbed me" Hongjoong said "I never backstabbed you, I still love you and care about you. You think I don't love you?" Y/n asked. That question right there is what makes it hard for Hongjoong to leave.

So, Hongjoong doesn't answer the question he just stays with Y/n, ignores all the red flags, and continues the relationship and hopes for the next time whenever they get into an argument Hongjoong has the courage and brainpower to leave Y/n for good.
