~ Not So Perfect Soulmates ~

Bio; When you grow up a symbol appears on your body and your soulmate will have the same mark as you. Y/n and Bangchan have been best friends since they were little kids and don't believe in that soulmate stuff until one day they wake up with the same mark.

*Author's POV* "Oh my god! We have the same mark!" "I can't believe it! We're soulmates!" Y/n and Bangchan overhear as they both sit on the park bench, drinking hot coco, slightly gagging seeing people find their soulmates. Bangchan and Y/n are best friends. They knew each other when they were little. As they got older a friendship was made and Y/n was always standing by Bangchans side. Many people have mistaken them as soulmates which they were quick to deny at first.

Y/n and Bangchan don't believe in the whole soulmate system. They think it's bullshit. A lot of people have shared their experiences about the soulmate system. Some people believe they were assigned to the wrong person, while others when assigned to no one.

The two friends didn't get their marks yet, but once they get it, they'll ignore it and just think of it as some stupid tattoo they got when they were drunk and move on. "I wonder when we'll get our marks," Bangchan said, "Me too, we're 21 now and we were supposed to get them once you turn 18, I don't know what's been going on but who cares," Y/n said "Yeah, but I can't help but feel a little curious, like what will this mark look like? Or will I have a soulmate or is it gonna be nobody?" Bangchan asked "Well, you never know, but one day all your answers will be answered. We should go before your members start calling you and wonder where you ran off too" Y/n said as he stood up and threw away the empty cup, Bangchan doing the same thing. Then the two walk back to Bangchan's dorm. 

*The Next Day* 

Y/n wakes up in his apartment, the sun shining on his face. He gets up and walks towards the window, grabbing the blinds to close them, and then he notices some weird mark on his thumb. He shoves his hand closer to his face, squinting at the mark wondering what happened. He tried to rub it off but it wouldn't. Then it hit him, he finally got his mark, meaning it's time for him to meet his soulmate. But he ignored it. He closes his blinds and lays back down in bed, getting ready to fall back asleep until he hears his phone ringing, causing him to scream in his pillow before answering. 

"Hello?" Y/n said trying to sound awake as possible 
"Y/n, do you wanna meet me at the cafe? I'm pretty busy today and I know you have nothing to do this week" Y/n heard Bangchan 
"Fine, I'll be there in 30 minutes," Y/n said and hung up the phone and got ready. 

*Time Skip* 

Y/n walks into the cafe and sees Bangchan sitting in the back of the cafe, already ordered two hot cocos. Y/n walks up to Bangchan, sits down across from him, and grabs the hot coco. "Finally, you took so long," Bangchan said and Y/n rolls his eyes, "I said I would take 30 minutes," Y/n said then drinks his hot coco, "So tell me, what do you have to do today," Y/n said and Bangchan begins to explain everything he needed to do, and while Y/n listens his attention goes to Bangchan's hand when he noticed a mark on his thumb. 

"Y/n? Are you okay? You've been staring at my hand for quite a while now" Bangchan said "You got your mark?" Y/n asked "Oh yeah, I woke up with it this morning," Bangchan said and Y/n looked at it closer, "Is there something wrong?" Bangchan asked then Y/n noticed Bangchan's mark matches with Y/n's. 

"Bangchan, we have the same mark," Y/n said as he shows Bangchan his mark, Bangchan's eyes widen, "When did you get that mark?" Bangchan asked "I found out about it this morning," Y/n said  "We- we're soulmates? But what does this mean for the both of us?" Bangchan asked "I don't know, I wasn't expecting any of this to happen," Y/n said, "But if you wanted, would you want to try something out between us?" Bangchan asked, "What are you saying?" Y/n asked "I don't know Y/n, listen I have to go and we need some space to think about this for a bit okay? I'll see you soon" Bangchan said and got up and walked out of the cafe. 'What the actual fuck' Y/n thought to himself. 

*A week later* 

Y/n and Bangchan are back in the cafe, sitting across from each other. They had their space and got the chance to think about everything. "So," Bangchan said "So," Y/n said "We got the chance to think about everything, and I just think we shouldn't let this whole soulmate thing ruin our friendship," Y/n said "You're right, I don't know what I was talking about last week, I thought that would change our relationship," Bangchan said "I don't know, but let's just keep our relationship at how it is, and just ignore this whole soulmate thing. I think it would be better for the both of us" Y/n said and the two moved on, pretending this whole thing never happened.
