Marcus ~
Marcus took a seat across from Axel who slid a file over to him.
"So where we headed?" Marcus asked, as he flipped the file open.
"Syria, we got a request from the FBI, needing a team for a rescue mission. They've got an agent who was deep undercover, posing as a buyer in a human trafficking ring. Turns out she wasn't a very good actress and is now being held hostage. We've been trying to track her down for a few days, but finally got an idea of where they are keeping her." Axel said,
Marcus nodded along with Axel's words, thumbing through the file and processing the details.
"How solid is this intel?" Marcus asked.
Axel's sigh and change in posture was the only response Marcus needed to know it wasn't good.
"It's shaky." Axel admitted.
"How shaky?"
"Not sure how trustworthy these FBI assets are and it's possible that the information is outdated. We've got no clue as to how long it's taking these assets to obtain and relay the information to us."
Sloppy work. Red would have never handed off incomplete or outdated intel to a team. That's what gets people killed.
"I've got Nate running some drone surveillance so we can get our own feel and it looks pretty solid. I think we've found where they are keeping her and Nate's been watching around the clock."
That sounds much better. Like hell am I going to invade a compound if we're going in blind.
"How many guests are expected to attend this little party?" Marcus asked, looking at surveillance pictures that Nate had taken.
"Intel says five, Nate says twelve to fifteen."
"What's the play?" Marcus asked, eyeing the blueprint of the compound and map of the surrounding area.
"There's a shipment scheduled to arrive there between 21:00 and 22:00." Axel started.
"I'm guessing we're gonna commandeer the delivery vehicle."
"Exactly." Axel confirmed. "Nate will kill the lights and power once we approach the gate which will put us in the dark, easily concealed, but will also unfortunately knock out the gate power as well. A four man team will breach the walls and make their way to the lower level of the house where we believe Richardson is being held. Meanwhile a two man team will wait at the gate in the delivery truck, until we need a ride out. At which point Nate will give us power and we can hightail it outta there with Richardson in tow and hopefully no unwanted visitors."
Marcus ran through every scenario in his mind of how the op could take a turn for the worst, trying to prepare himself for every situation the way he always did before a mission.
"And if the intel is bad and Richardson isn't there?" Marcus asked.
"Then we just crashed a party that we definitely weren't invited to." Axel said.
"This a sanctioned op?" Marcus asked, wondering if it was U.S. sanctioned.
Axel grinned mischievously at Marcus, which was all the answer he needed.
"So if we get pinned down in there...we're fucked." Marcus stated, waiting for confirmation.
"Bingo. Nobody's comin to help us because we aren't supposed to be there." Axel said, painting a more accurate picture of what the mission actually was.
This wasn't a U.S. sanctioned mission, it was an FBI clean-up attempt. They botched a job and needed a tactical team to go in dark, under the radar and clean up their fuck up.
