Thursday , 2. 12. 2020"Excuse me! Excuse me! Oh-sorry!" I rush to class through the crowd of other students, probably seniors but thankfully make it on time let alone missing the first three periods.
"Excuse me, ma'am" I pant when I reach the door. She gives me a look and gesture for me to come in. I walk into the already full classroom. I spot an empty seat a few rows in front of the very back. I take a seat, pulling out my notebook and pouch, setting them on my table ready for whatever the teacher is going to do for today's day.
"Okay, now that everyone's here....." the teacher begins to address the class. "I'm having a parent-teacher's meeting tomorrow at say...ten o'clock? Ten o'clock, it is. As you all know, it's the last day of this semester and also your last day in tenth grade." Cheers and hoots erupted making the teacher smile momentarily but soon was wiped out of her face just like that. "Ah, ah, silence everyone!" She says aloud, getting the class to quiet down. "As I was saying, there'll be a parent-teacher's meeting tomorrow at ten and there can be no excuses whatsoever..." I sighed, hiding my face in my two palms after hearing her say 'there can be no excuses whatsoever'. One thing you should know, my parents never make the time for meetings, and especially school meetings. World's best parents, eh? (Note the sarcasm)
I mentally groaned thinking of probably the hundredth excuse to come up with since the day I started schooling here at Florida International School. I wouldn't have to be lying to my teacher if it weren't for them. If only they had the courtesy, no, decency to attend all the meetings of their 'daughter'.
Just as I snap out of my trance, the teacher dismisses the class. Wonderful! (Note the sarcasm) I head to the library not in the mood to go to the cafeteria. Besides, I have my untouched breakfast box in my bag, so I might as well eat that for lunch so it wouldn't go waste.
I knock on the black tinted door and soon hear Mrs. Huggins' voice.
"Come in!" I enter the room, closing the door behind me. I looked around slowly noticing that there was no one else but only Mrs. Huggins seated at her desk with a load of books in front of her.
"Hello Mrs. Huggins." I greet her as I pass her table to my usual spot which is right at the back of the library behind probably the biggest bookshelf in the room. I grab a few cushions from the corner and sit myself around them pulling out my copy of Pride and Prejudice.
I'm determined to finish this novel by the end of the year. The goal is in three months. We'll have to see about that though. Speaking of novels, my personal favourites would be Jane Austen's. Why? Well...I too want to end up being an author like her one day.
Ding, dong!
I look over at my Iphone screen to see Jack's name. I type in the passcode and open the conversation between me and him.
*Hey beautiful, at school? Well, I thought of picking you up today......text me the time. See ya, mustard :)*
'Mustard? What's a mustard?' I laugh to myself before starting to type out a response to his text.
*Yes, thank you. I'll be done by 2. See you later.*
I sent the message and continued reading Pride and Prejudice from where I stopped last.

I make my way to my last class for the day on time, thankfully. I walk to the back of the class happily spotting an empty seat right next to the window. Students start coming in and take their seats and start talking until the teacher walks in. Ms. Charlotte walks in hastily with a stack of files. Did I mention that I'm in English class? Well I am and I'm quite excited to receive my grade on last week's assignment. I sit patiently resting my head on my hands waiting for her to call my name. She goes according to the alphabetical order and she's still in letter J. I rest my head on the table almost dozing off but try my best to keep my ears wide open.
