*Meriliya's POV*

Two weeks in London and it's pouring already. What a way to start a life? I've got myself in school thanks to Fallon actually. We'll be going to the same school here in London. How exciting! Well, at least I got myself in school right? I wonder how it's going to be here.

The other day I dropped by the school to see the classes they have and I'm impressed at the options they have here. I've applied for English, Mathematics, Psychology, Business, Economics and for extras; Arts and Music. I still have no idea about all the classrooms or the teachers. I wanted to get all of that done but that didn't happen, so I have to wait until the first day and that is tomorrow.

I used the GPS on my phone and safely returned home, let alone having to pay more to take wrong routes.

"Oh you're home" Fallon says when I pass by her and walk upstairs.

"Yeah" I mumbled, ignoring her.

"Just so you know, I'll be using dad's car." She says twirling her hair.

"Okay?"

"Oh, oh, and there's a party tomorrow. Feel free to invite your newbies." She fake- smiles.

"Oh. No thanks." I stated, leaving her in the living room and walking up stairs to my room.

"Suit yourself!" I hear her yell when I make it to my room.

-

BEEP! BEEP!

Shoot! Its 6:20!! I scramble to the bathroom to take a shower and do a simple makeup for a change. New country. New day. New start. I change into a mini skirt and a top that I tucked in after I dry off myself.

"Hmm...not bad..." I look at my reflection satisfied with how I look. I slid into a pair of white converse and grabbed my bag and went downstairs for breakfast.

I make scrambled eggs and grab the sliced bread making a sandwich for myself and for the others. I pack my food and grab my coffee from the fridge.

Nobody is awake and it's already 7:08. Just as I step out of the house I realise that it's raining heavily outside. Wonderful! I love the rain, don't get me wrong. But not on the first days of school. Plus I can't use the car to drive to school. I mentally groan calling a cab.

No signal
No signal

Oh c'mon! I have to reach school in less than thirty minutes. And in this rain, being on time is kind of impossible! I dial a cab again to pick me up and again there's no signal. Minutes later I walk back in and rush upstairs to change into a grey hoodie and jeans. I'm not ruining this outfit in this rain. I put on the waterproof boots I bought last year, taking off the converse I wore before.

The next thing, I'm rushing through the rain, knowing I'm going to end up looking like a mess as soon as I reach school. I really want to make it to school. Rain or not. I don't want to miss my first day. I'm finally out of the house and away from them. It really is a relief being away from them, sadly.

I was looking forward to this day to arrive from the day we landed here. Two weeks gave me enough time to 'settle in' and I think I have some sort of confidence in travelling around here. I wouldn't mind getting lost in the streets anyway. Honestly, running around the streets of an unknown country would be an ideal escape. I'm in this state where I won't let anything get in my way to ruin my only chance to 'get away'. Like I said, I've waited for this day since we got here, and here I am running around the wet, muddy streets on my way to rush to school. What a day to start school right?

I keep checking my IPhone for the time. I have only fifteen minutes!

"Meriliya, you gotta make it without losing one of your limbs!". I say to myself.
