I sigh walking past the messy living room upstairs to my room. I quickly shower and change into comfortable clothes. I start on my homework even though I've not had lunch yet, because if I go make lunch I wouldn't be able to attend to the whole load of chores before they arrive.

Hours later that evening.

It was 10:18 in the night when I completed all of my homework. I was not sleepy, but I was getting a little worried about my Mom, Dad and Fallon because they haven't arrived yet and it's already late.

"Where could they be?" I say to myself and then looking at how messy the house is I remember they would have obviously left the chores for me to do for the time being. I started off with the laundry. After the laundry was done, I put them in the dryer, then folded them and organised each of our clothes in their wardrobes. Then I started cleaning the whole house which was a long process. Then I started off with washing the load of dishes and putting them away in the pantry cupboards.

Two hours and finally the house was now clean. Also I cooked dinner in case they didn't, and for me because I am a little hungry and tired. I lazily walk up the stairs to my room, and take a quick shower. I change into a pair of cotton shorts and a matching t-shirt hanging loosely on my body. It was 1:15 AM, it's already past midnight. What could they be doing so late? I was getting more worried. After a few minutes I lay down on the couch, falling asleep.

I instantly get up at the loud noises I hear from the outside. I quickly glance at the clock and see that it's 2 in the morning. I walked out the front door and sigh. All three of them are drunk. I help them, despite their disgusting and hurtful behavior. I was pushed a few times, but I still helped them into the house. I quickly park the car in our driveway. Locking the car and walking to the door I heard glass being dashed on the floor. 'Clash!'. Without wasting another second I walk past the hallway and find my parents in the kitchen.

All the dishes I had just washed were now in pieces, scattered on the floor. The house was clean and proper just an hour ago and now it's a muddle of glass pieces. I call them but they ignore me still dashing plates and screaming at each other. My parents are literally like devils! At first, I was scared but I pushed that thought away and approached my drunk parents.

They are both breathing heavily and I'm hoping they'll calm down eventually at least but man, they're unpredictable at this point. I watched as my mom started rummaging through the kitchen drawers vigorously. I was confused as to why she was looking for cooking utensils when two seconds ago she was dashing all the plates in the house.

"Aha!" She says aloud pulling out a knife that's quite sharp. Oh no.

This is bad. Is she out of her mind? At this point I didn't know what to do. She was looking straight at my dad with evil-eyes, her lips covered with an evil smirk. Oh my God! Please don't tell me she's going to do what I think it is. Is she really going to kill dad? My mind keeps running through so many questions. Nothing was making sense until, 'they're drunk you idiot' my subconscious reminds me.

I walked towards where my mom was without thinking it through. I don't know from where I got the courage to walk over to her side but I've got to put an end to this now. It's not like she's going to hurt me drunk or not. Right?

"Mom you need to put the knife away before one of us gets hurt or worse" I say as a shiver runs through my body. She now focuses her evil-eyes on me which is frightening me even more.

"For what huh? So you could play with it?" She laughs and I flinch.

"No mom, I just don't want to get into trouble or anything worse..." I say slowly trying to hide the fear that is growing inside of me.
