Always You

My Choice

Emily POV

Sitting in my house I couldn't stop thinking about the look on Randy's face. He was genuinely hurt by my decision but what else was I supposed to do?

I knew continuing to see Randy was only going to make things worse, she wasn't going to stop until she got rid of me and I had no way of making him believe what I was telling him.

I honestly never thought there would come a day when Randy would think I was a problem, that he would ever think that I would lie to him.

One thing was for sure I was still going to be a part of Alanna's life that is one thing she has no control over. Alanna means everything to me, I love her like she was my own, she has every one of Randy's good qualities, his eyes, smile and laugh, how could I not love her.

My phone rings shaking me from my thoughts and I know straight away who it is.

"Hey Sam" I answer "how did the rest of the night go?"

"Let's see Kim spent the rest of the night with a smug look on her face" she growls "she thinks she's won, and Randy looked miserable care to explain why?"

"We had a row and I told him I was going to stay away" I sigh

"So you are doing what she wants?" She says "how does this help you exactly?"

"It doesn't but I don't want to keep fighting with him" I say "he means too much to me to lose"

"Em you know he won't stay away" she says "he'll come to you"

"I know" I sigh "but I need to do this, otherwise me and her will come to blows and I'll be the one who loses"

"Bob's right he should be with you" she says

"Not you aswell" I laugh "he doesn't love me"

"I wouldn't be so sure" she says "I've seen the way he looks at you"

"How he looks at me is irrelevant, he's married to cruella" I sigh and Sam laughs

Sam starts to speak but there is a knock at my door, I look out the window and see Randy standing there.

"Damn it Sam I've got to go" I sigh "Randy is here"

"Ok I'll speak to you soon" she says as we end the call

I walk over to the door and taking a deep breath I open it, I look at Randy and I see that Sam is right he looks miserable and if I didn't know better I'd say he's been crying.

"What are you doing here Randy?" I ask

"I'm supposed to be going on my honeymoon but I refuse to do so until we sort things out" he says

"That is not going to happen right now so I suggest you go" I say, I go to close the door but Randy stops me pushing it back open and walking straight past me into my house.

"I'm not leaving until we are ok" he says taking a seat "I refuse to lose our friendship becuase you don't like my wife"

"Why can't it be that she doesn't like me?" I snap "why do you find it easy to believe that I'm the problem and not her?"

"Your the only one I've seen make a fuss" he says

"Don't you see that's what she wants?" I say "you to see me as a problem, so that you will kick me out of your life"

"Even if that were true, I'd never do that" he says standing up and walking over to me "I always want you in my life"

"Then believe me" I say placing my hands on his chest "when have I ever lied to you?"

"That would be never" he smiles "but to believe it I have to see it"

"Randy we are clearly not going to get anywhere" I sigh "I think you should just go"

"Don't do this Em, don't shut me out please" he begs

"I'm sorry but this is my choice and I want you to leave" I say walking away from him for the second time today, but instead of leaving he follows me, he wraps his arms around me from behind and rests his head against mine.

"I'm not letting you walk out of my life Em" he says "I'm going to go but I'll come and see you when I get back, hopefully then we will have both calmed down and we can sort this"

Letting go of me he leaves without letting me respond, when I turn to look at him he's gone, his words play in my mind "to believe it I have to see it" how on earth am I going to get him to see what she doesn't want him to see?
