Randy POV

Leaving Emily's I was crushed, we have never fought like this before, we've had disagreements but nothing we couldn't sort out. I've been in a position where I thought I might lose her and thats exactly how I feel now, like I'm losing my best friend.

It's not that I didn't want to believe Emily it's that I haven't seen anything to suggest that Kim has a problem with her, I've only ever seen her be nice to Emily.

Her deciding to stay away from me hurt, I can't remember a time when she wasn't a part of my life and to be honest she is probably the best thing to ever happen to me. She has been there for me through everything and she has put up with my shit and never complained.

To say that Emily was important to me is an understatement, after my daughter she is the most important person in my life. I just hope there is a way to fix this before it's too late.

"Baby you're home" Kim calls out as I walk through the door

"Yeah I'm home" I say not even managing a smile

"What's wrong?" She asks

"It's Em she won't talk to me" I sigh "she slammed the door in my face"

"Baby you know I respect your friendship with her and I would never want to cause trouble" she says "but I called her to see if you were there and she threatened me"

"She what?" I gasp, that doesn't sound like Em at all, she wouldn't even start a fight with some one let alone threaten them

"She said she wants me out of your lives for good and she was going to find a way to make it happen" she says

"You know she said that you threatened her" I say

"Baby I swear it was her, I would never" she pleads

"I know you wouldn't baby" I say wrapping an arm around her shoulder "but it doesn't sound like something Emily would do either"

"I'm telling you she did" she says "are you calling me a liar?"

"No of course not, I'm just confused, this isn't like her" I say

"I've always tried to be nice to her, I've always made her feel welcome in our home" Kim sobs "and just don't know what I did to make her hate me"

"I promise you I will get to the bottom of this ok" I say kissing the top of her head

"Maybe you should just leave it" she says "maybe this is a sign that your friendship has run it's course"

"No never, me and Emily it's for life" I say shaking my head "something is wrong and I need to find out what"

Heading into my study and leaving Kim in the kitchen I grab my phone and dial Emily's number hoping that she will answer.

"What the hell are you doing? What did I tell you?" Sam snaps down the phone

"I need to speak to Emily" I say

"Not happening" she says "why can't you leave her alone?"

"Its a bit difficult to do that when I find out she threatened my wife" I growl

"Are you for real? You actually believe that bullshit?" Sam gasps
"The only person who got threatened is Emily"

"Kim would never do something like that" I say "and I know Emily wouldn't either which is why I want to talk to her to find out whats going on"

"She's been telling you Randy and you have refused to believe her" she says

"Will you just put her on the phone?" I snap

"Oh hell no, if you think for one second I'm going to let you snap and snarl at her you're mistaken" she says

"I promise I will remain calm" I say "please Sam"

"Randy look, it's perfectly clear who you believe, so you two talking would be a waste of time" she says "just do as I asked and leave her alone"

Sam ends the call and I throw my phone down onto the couch, somehow I have got to get to the bottom of this, I'm not about to let my best friend just walk out of my life without trying everything to fix this. But with Emily refusing to talk to me and Sam asking sure I don't then I only have one option, I'll have to try and talk to her at Alanna's party.
