Next day
Randy POV
Pulling up outside Mark's house nervous was an understatement, I know I've got a least one good punch coming my way and quite frankly I deserve it, hell I will gladly stand there and let him beat me to a pulp I deserve nothing less.
I see his truck but there is no sign of Emily's car, maybe she's gone to the store with Michelle. Knocking on the door I brace myself for what is about to happen, Mark glares at me through the glass pane of the door before opening it and the next thing I feel is the sharp pain of his fist connecting with my face.
"You've got some damn nerve showing up at my house boy" he growls
"I know and if you want to beat the crap out of me go ahead I deserve nothing less" I say holding my nose
"Oh I would love to but I promised my girl I wouldn't beat you up" he says "you promised me that you wouldn't let anyone hurt her, you promised me you'd take care of her now give me one good reason why I shouldn't send your ass packing"
"Honestly sir I don't think there is any reason that I could give you that would be good enough" I say "but I'm here because I messed up and I want to make it right, I'm here because I love your daughter"
"Hmm let's get some ice and that nose, I think you and I need to talk" he says moving aside to let me in.
Emily POV
As I approach the front door of Uncle Steve's ranch his dogs rush up to greet me, barking and wagging their tails.
"Hey guys, is he home?" I say scratching each of them behind the ears
"What in blazes are you two barking at.......Emmy?" He says giving me a big smile
"Hey Uncle Steve how are you?" I say smiling back
"All the better for seeing you honey" he says "what brings you up this way?"
"I'm staying with my dad for a while so I thought I'd come visit" I say
"What's happened? Has somebody hurt you?" He asks
"Oh my god you are just as bad as my dad" I laugh
"You're dad always let's me know when you are visiting and this time he didn't which means he wasn't expecting you" he says "am I right so far?"
"Yes you are" I sigh "Randy and I have been having some issues, his wife doesn't like me, she's been very unpleasant and he won't believe me"
"What's has he done?" He asks
"He said our friendship meant nothing to me because I would try to get on with his wife" I say just before my phone pings and cuts me off
Dad: you better come back, Randy just showed up
"Damn it, sorry Uncle Steve I have to go" I say "Randy just showed up at dads" I say
"I'm coming with you" he says "I want to have a word with that son bitch"
"No you stay here and let me handle this" I say "I don't want either of you heating him up"
Leaving in the ranch I get in my car and head back to my dads, at some point I realise that not only has the truck behind me been folling me all the way but that it's been driven by Uncle Steve
"They just won't listen" I say under my breath
Pulling up at my dads I get outnof the car and walk over to Uncle Steve's truck.
"I told you to stay home" I say
"And I chose not to listen" he says
"Fine but no violence" I say and he crosses his heart
When we get in the house I find my dad in the kitchen with Randy who appears to be hold a bag of frozen peas on his face, I shoot my father a look before walking over to Randy and moving the bag.
"Dad! What the hell happened to his face" I gasp
"I punched him" he says "it was just one punch"
"You promised me dad" I sigh
"I promised I wouldn't beat him up and I didn't" he says "he can handle it he takes worse beatings at work"
"Em it's fine I deserved it" Randy says
"That's beside the point" I say
"There you are you little......" "Woah woah calm down Steve" my dad says stepping in front of him
"What are you talking bout calm down, that son bitch hurt my Emmy" he shouts
"Ok Steve you come with me let's leave them to talk" My dad says dragging him out of the room
"DON'T YOU BE GOING NOWHERE I'LL BE RIGHT BACK FOR YOUR ASS BOY!" Steve shouts over his shoulder before he leaves
"What were you thinking coming here?" I ask "are you crazy?"
"I wanted to talk to you and I was prepared to take any beating your dad wanted to give me" he says
"Randy what could we possibly have to talk about?" I ask
"This" he says holding out his hand and there in his hand is a memory stick with and F on it.
