3 months later
Emily POV
As I finish final preparations for dinner I'm both excited and nervous, not only is Randy coming home today but it is also his birthday.
I have a nice meal planned and I have booked us a couples spar day for tomorrow and I just want everything to be perfect becuase he deserves nothing less.
I had set up the table by the pool with romantic lighting and I was making his favourite, steak and potatoes for dinner. On top of all that there was his gift and there was no doubt in my mind that he was going to love it but that didn't stop me being nervous.
Over the last few months we had adopted a routine of me joining Randy for a couple of weeks when he went back on the road after being home and I had to admit I was enjoying it although I don't think I could do it full time.
"Baby I'm home" Randy calls out and I wait patiently for him to find me by the pool "hey what's all this?" He asks smiling at me
"Happy birthday baby" I say and he chuckles "you didn't have to go to all this trouble" he says
"I wanted to" I say "I wanted tonight to be special, this is you're first gift" I say handing him an envelope
Smiling he takes the envelope from me and opens it slowly, he pulls the sheet of paper and reads it "couple's spar day" he grins "I love it thank you baby" he says pulling me in for a kiss.
While Randy relaxes by the pool I finish making dinner, I place his plate down in front of him my hand shaking slightly and he smiles at me lovingly.
"You're spoiling me baby" he smiles "you alright you're shaking, are you cold?" He asks
"No I'm fine" I say "I was just a little nervous about getting everything right" I say and he takes my hand
"Don't worry so much, it's just me" he says "everything is perfect becuase I'm with you"
At his words I relax slightly but my mind is firmly on the box waiting for him in the bedroom. As we eat our meal I watch Randy enjoy every mouthful.
"That was delicious baby" he smiles placing his knife and fork on his plate "this has been an amazing birthday evening"
"Oh it's not over yet, I still have one more gift for you" I smile
"Baby that spa day was more than enough" he says "you didn't need to get me anything else"
"I wanted to and anyway this gift is non returnable" I smile
"Hey I never said I didn't want it" he grins "and now you've got me curious.
Randy POV
I help Emily clear up the dinner plates and then I follow her into the bedroom, on the bed is a gift wrapped box with a card on it.
Emily motions for me to walk over to the bed and open the gift, placing the box on my knee I read the card:
Made in a moment
Loved for a lifetime
Something so precious
Part yours and part mine
"Baby what does this mean?" I ask looking up at her and she smiles at me
"Open it and find out" she says
I remove the paper from around the box and I open the lid carefully, what I see leaves me lost for words and overwhelmed with happiness, in the box is a baby grow emblazoned with the words "daddy's little viper" and on top of it is a white stick telling me that the woman in front of me, the woman I have loved for 15 years is carrying my child.
"Is this for real?" I ask and she nods as tears fall down her cheeks "You...you're pregnant?" I ask wanting to make sure I'm not dreaming and she nods again
"Oh my god" I say moving the box off my knee standing and taking her in my arms "We're having a baby" I say as my own tears start to fall
"We're having a baby" she repeats back to me
"Baby this is the best gift you have ever given me" I say "I love you so much"
"I love you too" she says "so you happy?" She asks smiling up at me
"Em I'm ecstatic" I smile "this is a dream come true"
Right now I am the happiest I have ever been but the moment is short lived as the doorbell breaks us from our happy little bubble.
I leave Em and go answer the door, when I open it my dream quickly becomes a nightmare
"What the hell do you want?" I ask my ex wife
"Is that any way to greet your wife" she smirks pushing passed me
"You are not my wife" I growl "I kicked your ass out remember"
"Well that maybe but we are still married" she says
"Still married?" I look passed Kim to see Em standing there shock all over her face
"Unfortunately yes, she's refusing to sign the papers" I sigh "I'm sorry baby you've been so happy and I didn't want to spoil it"
"Randy we need to talk" she says looking over at Em "in private"
"Anything you have to say you can say in front of Em" I say
"Fine but she won't like it" she shrugs "the thing is Randy I'm pregnant"
"You really expect me to fall for that?" I snap "get the fuck out of my house and take your lies with you"
Kim doesn't move instead she just slowly lifts up the lose top she is wearing to reveal a small but noticeable bump.
"Does this look like I'm lying" she smirks
