A stupid crush: Nico di Angelo x reader

Chapter 2

That night you ended up tossing and turning in your sleeping bag not getting any sleep at all.

You finally decided to sit up and accept the fact you weren't going to fall asleep. You let your depression and sadness fill up your soul until it leaked out through your heart and mind.

Will I ever be happy? You thought staring into the darkness. Will I ever find special to be with like my brother and friends?

You started to cry. Sucking in your heart broken sobs so that no one would hear. The tears ran down from your eyes to your nose and the fell in perfect droplets on the sleeping bag.

You shivered because of the lack of warmth from your sleeping bags and blankets. The cold swept through your body right down to your bones.

You didn't move. You made no attempt to get back under your covers and make yourself warm again.

So you sat there. In the dead of night...crying your heart out.

You heard a rustling but made no attempt to turn and see who it was. In your peripheral vision you saw Nico get up and run a hand through his messy raven hair.

"(Y/N)?" He asked softly. "What's going on?"

You turned to face him, the tears and red eyes glowing in the moonlight on your face.

"Nightmare?" He asked. You didn't answer him, you just kept weeping letting your body be wrecked with sobs because your crush was right there but your feelings towards him must never be shown or known.

He got up, took a blanket and wrapped it around the both of you though as soon as touched you your skin warmed up. He wrapped you in a tight hug and not in the way he usually does.

This sudden show of love made you weep harder in spite of yourself but it was only of friendship and comfort. Nothing more.

He rocked you back and forth a little whispering sweet things in your ear, stroking your hair while you laid into his embrace. Each time his finger touched your skin it was like you had a 100 bolts of electricity in your body. 

Eventually. sleep overwhelmed you and you snuggled closer to him. You both fell asleep peacefully.

You woke up to harsh whispers and soft yelling. The bright morning light was shining through your eyelids even though they were closed.

Finally, you let them open and you took in your surroundings. 

Percy, Annabeth, Hazel, Reyna, Frank, Jason and Piper were talking in harsh voices that were low. Percy seemed to be shouting as softly as he could.

You rubbed your eyes and tried to hear what they were talking about and when they heard you cough they all looked at you.

You looked next to you and your face began to heat up. Nico's arms were still around you wound tightly around your waist and his head buried in your chest. You glanced at his lips and you could have just kissed him right there, but you restrained yourself.

Nico blinked. He realized the situation you two were in and quickly let go off you. 

You fell backwards onto the carpet and hit your head on the carpet with a sharp thud you sat back up and rubbed your head. "Ouch!"

"Wha-" Hazel began.

"-T, are you doing!?" Percy nearly yelled yanking you away from Nico's grip. You were dumbfounded still registering what happened when Nico spoke up.

"(Y/N) woke up crying from a nightmare and I came over and comforted her." Nico defended both of you with his arms raised.

"A-and we kind of just...fell asleep." You muttered looking down to hide your blush.

"You fell asleep huh?" Piper said sniggering madly, Jason elbowed her in the stomach.

"It was like 2am! Obviously we were tired I can't believe you guys would assume we would..." Nico trailed of, his face going beet red at the thought.

"Come on Nico, that we would assume what?" Piper prompted innocently, this time both Jason and Percy elbowed him.

"T-that I like girls because I don't!" He stomped his foot for effect.

The 6 of them shared a look. Then to yours and Nico's surprise and annoyance they all burst out laughing.

"Y-your faces!" Percy said between laughs, realization began to draw on you. "Seaweed brain!" You shouted. Then you sat dazed not knowing what to do.

The rest of the morning went by like that. Soon you and Percy were packed ready to go to your mom's apartment.

"We'd better get going." Percy said giving Annabeth a kiss. Nico reached you and pulled you in a hug. "See you at school." He whispered letting go. 

You were still blushing on the way home.
