Chapter 10

Your phone buzzed and you walked over to it, you flipped it over and saw it was from Nico.

Your heart started pumping almost immediately as you read it. Nico wanted to see you before school started.

Your hands shook as you responded with a yes. You ran your hands through your hair.

Deep breaths (Y/N), it's just Nico, you've been friends for like, ever now, no big deal right?

NO, BIG DEAL! You're dating your best friend for goodness sake, your biggest crush likes you too.

You started pacing around your room. What were you to do? Your heart was thumping and it was all you could hear.

Thump-thump-THUMP

You wanted to scream, surely you could do this.

"(Y/N)!" Sally yelled. "we're leaving now!"

You stopped mid-pace. Worry etched across your face, nonetheless you grabbed your bag and headed downstairs to meet your mom and Percy.

The car ride was silent. You fidgeted in your seat, twisting and turning. You felt like throwing up, your stomach hurt badly, your heart was thumping so loud Percy could probably hear it.

"You alright kelp face?" Percy asked.
"What? Oh-uh, just nervous about my maths test today," you said.
"Don't worry, it'll be alright," he said this with a wink.
"I hope so," you sighed.

In no time, you pulled up to the school, you could see Nico and Annabeth waiting for you and Percy.

"Good luck on the test, sweetie," your mom called.

"What test? uh, I mean, thanks." Openning the door, you stepped out grabbing your bag.

Nico smiled as you approached him. "You look beautiful."
You laughed nervously. "What? This old thing? I don't think so." You replied gesturing to your casted arm.
"Are you alright (Y/N)?" Nico asked.
"F-fine, why do you ask?"
"Well, you look nervous, you sound nervous and your hands are sweating."
"Alright, it's just this stupid test I'm worried about."

Nico stopped and turned to you, squeezing your hand. "I know that's not the truth, you can tell me anything you know,"

You looked into his sad yet comforting eyes. Sighing, you told him. "I'm just nervous about this," you gestured to the two of you. "I can't believe this is happening. I love you so much, I feel like something bag will happen, like I'll wake up from some cruel dream and you won't love me and I won't have you."

You looked away. "Never mind. It's stupid. Forget I said anything."

"No," he said hugging you. "it's beautiful, I had no idea you care so much."

Leaning into his embrace, you felt much better.
