Chapter 7

You woke up aching all over.

You were surrounded by bright lights of the hospital and beeping sounds of the machines that annoyed you despite the state you were in.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

You wanted to shout SHUT UP. Instead you sat up in the hospital bed, grunting from the effort since you were so badly injured.

That's when you saw them. Your mom and Percy asleep in each other's arms. It would have looked cute if they both didn't look so worried, you shook your brother's shoulder.

"Percy wake up." You said.

He head slipped off your mother's shoulder and he jerked awake, his eyes immediately fixed on you.

"(Y/N), your finally awake." He said groggily.

"No shit Sherlock." You joked then you winced when you laughed.

"What happened?"

Your mind began racing for answers, your brain was still a little foggy. You surely weren't running away from Nico but because you were jealous of his perfect boyfriend. And how because you were a sobbing mess and you didn't see the car when you got hit or you were frozen.

So you said. "I was walking home from the restaurant and a car came out of no where and hit me."

"You're such an idiot you know that sometimes, you could have just told me to come pick you up."

By this time your mom was awake. "Oh honey are you okay?" 

"Yeah I think so."

"Don't ever pull something like that again we were worried sick."

"I won't mom." You paused. "What did the doctors say?"

"A brain injury, fractured, ribs both legs and hip broken and a concussion."

Your face fell. "Was it that bad?"

They nodded.

"How did you find me?"

"Oh we didn't find you, Will paged his colleges and they came as fast as they could. He called us one time and they shocked you three times before some life finally came into you."

"Oh." was all you could say. That's when you noticed all of the cards and flowers on your bedside table.

"Everyone sent you cards and flowers they're all worried about you." Percy said. You smiled as you read the one from Leo.

Hey Kelp head.

Percy laughed. "That guy is such a dumbass."

You laughed as well. "Says you seaweed brain."

The next one was from Hazel.

 HOW COULD YOU BE SO DAM IRRISPONSIBLE?! MY BROTHER'S WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU?! HOW COULD YOU NOT LOOK BOTH WAYS WHILE YOUR CROSSING THE ROAD?!

You laughed again, you swore she could be everyone's mom when she wanted to, your face fell when you read the part about Nico again. You shook your head and opened the rest which were from Annabeth, Reyna, Frank, Grover and Thalia. You were surprised when there was one from Will as well. You read that one silently.

I know we haven't talked much but I know how awkward it must be to be a third wheel with Nico and I. I  don't know why you ran of like that, I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way, please tell me if I did I would really like to make it up to you and be your friend, maybe we can hang out sometime? Get well soon!

You smiled. Will is a good guy, you shouldn't treat him like this just because he's dating your crush. You gulped when you realized the next one is from Nico.

We need to talk. I'm going to visit you when Will lets me. Only family members can see you for now.

-Nico.

You set the cards down and looked at your mom and Percy. "Is there anyone in the waiting room?"

They looked at each other. "Just Nico dear, we'll go get him." They smiled and walked off.

AAAAH! You shouted in your head. You couldn't talk to Nico, your heart was still broken.

Your bones were broken and your muscles ached. "The fight is over." You whispered to yourself as you laid on your pillow waiting for death.

Nico walked in with your mom and Percy who said, "We'll leave you two alone."

"No Percy it-" You were cut off by Nico who said. "Thanks Percy and Mrs Jackson."

He walked to the side of your bed and grabbed your good arm. "(Y/N) what did you do? Why did you run away?"

What were you supposed to tell him? That your in love with him and was heartbroken to see him with his boyfriend? "I can't tell you."

"Why not?"

"I just can't!"

He took your hand again and your heart softened at his touch especially since he didn't touch anyone else. "Tell me." he said it in such a defeated voice that you felt your heart crumble as well.

"Fine. But not here. Not now."

"Alright but we're talking as soon as you get released from the hospital alright?"

"Alright."

During your time at the hospital, which was 3 months or less, everything healed fairly well though you had a cast on your leg and your arm was in a sling. The bruises were gone and the cuts were stitched and cleaned. Your head was wrapped in a bandage which was kind of annoying when you wanted to to your hair.

The cast on your arm went from your fingers to your elbow. It was white and no one signed it yet. The nurses gave you a marker so people could sign it. In your other arm you had a crutch to help you support your left leg.

Your mom and Percy helped escort you out of the hospital and got in her car. "Mom, I know you want me to spend more time with you and Percy, and you don't want me going out, but can you drop me off and Nico's house?"

Sally sighed and after a minute of thinking she said. "Why not?"

And now you're at the stoop of Nico's house, with you arm in a sling and your leg in a cast with a couple of bruises on your face and you rang the doorbell.

He opened the door and he was surprised to see you. "Come in." he said with a relieved smile on his face.

You walked in-well hobbled in- he sat on the couch and you followed him. "Now, you have to tell me, why did you run away?"

You took a deep breath. "Will isn't here, is he?"

"No, why?"

"You'll understand in a second."

"Okay, out with it."

"I-I ran away from the restaurant because I was jealous. My heart ached at the sight of you kissing Will. I couldn't stand it."

"So....you like Will?"

"No."

"So...are you jealous of me?"

"Nico. I'm jealous of Will. I LIKE YOU FOR GODNESS SAKE! I'm in love with you Nico di Angelo!"
