Chapter 16

You walked down the dark street. You knew where you were going, to the edge of the river.

Everything was so confusing and hard you couldn't take it anymore.

Every second that pasesed and you walked faster and faster to get there faster.
Tears were rolling down your face and your legs ached from walking really fast and it was freezing cold.
You hoped a car would come and hit you like it did so many months ago.
You couldn't hear anything. Not the cars. The music coming from the houses, not the dogs or crickets.

Only the stress and frustration of your life.

Finally, what felt like after 80 miles you reached the bridge next to the river. You stepped next to the edge and place your hands on the cold metal, you took a deep breath and gathered your thoughts.

Are we really doing this?
Yes.
(Y/N), you're taking your life you cannot do this!
I HAVE TO! I CAN'T. . .I CAN'T. . .

You gripped the metal and began to cry again. Thinking of Nico and Connor and all the stupid things you did.

You should have stayed!
You shouldn't have ran away like the coward you were.

All of those thoughts ran through your head.

Do it.

"(Y/N)?" You heard a voice ask.

You turned to your left and saw Leo through your clouded vision. You returned your attention back to the edge and swung your leg over to climb up and jump off. Leo ran to you and tackled you to the ground. He straddled you trying to keep you down pinning your arms to the ground.

"Are you crazy!? You can't just kill yourself!" He yelled at you.
"Get off me!" You yelled struggling to get from under her.
"No!" He yelled back.

You kept struggling and finally you were able to get him off, he fell on the rocks and you made a break for it. Leo sat up and rubbed his head. You looked over him as your hands rested on the metal pole ready to heave yourself up. "I'm sorry."

You hoped onto the railing with your arms spread out and closed your eyes as you let your feet gain more weight on the edge letting you fall over.

"NO!!!!!" You heard Leo scream so loud it hurt your ears as you plummeted.
 Time seemed to slow down as you saw Leo lean over the edge of the railing to look at you, you could see sadness in his eyes, he really cared.

You breathed in the cool night air and closed your eyes. 
Stretching out your arms and legs preparing to hit the cold surface.
You blacked out.
