Chapter 5

You woke up around 7am and Nico was no where to be seen. 

So you pulled up the covers and got up. You took one step and the floorboards creaked. You cringed at the sudden noise.

Nico walked into the room, his hair curly and messy from tossing and turning all night. "Hey (Y/N)." He said waving his his hand.

You put up your own hand and gave a small, half-hearted wave. He may think you made up, but he's still dating sun-shine boy Will Solace. Things will never be the same.

You got dressed in your own clothes in the bathroom and when you came out Nico said. "I talked to Will, he said he'd love to meet you."

"Great." You said pulling on your shoes, you didn't think he understood the difference between sarcasm and sincerity.

"We're going to a restaurant down-town for lunch at 2pm today."

"Today?"

"Today. I'll come and pick you up at your house."

"You don't have to do that." You insisted.

"No, it's fine."

You sighed. "Whatever, my mom's here I should go."

"Okay, I'll pick you up at one thirty."

"Great." You said as you grabbed your things and frantically left the house.

You approached Sally's car and got in. Sighing loudly you said, "Let's go."

For a moment or so, she kept giving you glances of concern. "Is everything alright honey?"

"Fine, just fine." That didn't convince her.

"I know boy-troubles when I see it (Y/N) there's definitely something wrong."

You sighed giving up, your mom always saw right through you.

"I-it's just, Nico and Will, they're dating and mom can you believe he seriously asked me to come on a date with him and Will?"

She sighed this time, tapping on the steering wheel. "And you like Nico don't you?"

Wow she was good. "How did you know?"

"Percy told me."

Maybe not so good I'm going to kill seaweed brain. You thought.

"I hope you sort it out honey just be there for him."

"Yeah, just be there, I can do that."

She smiled and gave you a thumbs up encouragingly. You leaned against the car window and let out a deep breath.

The doorbell rang and you grudgingly got off the couch. "That's Nico mom! I'm leaving I'll be back soon." You called as you headed out of the door.

"Wait (Y/N)!" Sally called walking into the room. "Please don't do anything rash, or that'll hurt both of you?"

You smiled and hugged her. "I won't mom, thanks for the advice."

You walked out of the door and saw Nico, he was leaning against his car with his foot up and hands in his pockets. He was scowling but his face lit up when he saw you.

"Shall we?" He asked holding out his hand.

You walked passed him and said. "We shall."

You didn't look back and just got in the passenger side of the car. He opened the driver's side and slowly got in.

"(Y/N) are you okay?"

"Listen Nico, I'm fine let's just get this lunch over with."

"Alright." He put the key in the ignition and pulled out of the driveway.

You sat in silence the whole way. You just stared out of the window.

You were really not looking forward to meeting your crush's boyfriend. You had to restrain yourself. Couldn't very well go punching Will fucking Solace in front of Nico could you?

He would never forgive you and your chances with her would be more slim than even more.

So you continued watching the tree lines whistling by, thinking of nothing. Turning your heart and feelings off.
