A stupid crush: Nico di Angelo x reader

Chapter 4

It was around 8pm when you received a text from Nico.

(Y/N) please come to my house, please, we really need to talk.

You asked Percy to drop you off it was lucky he trusted Nico enough for you to be alone with him. Or maybe you just didn't tell him you'd be alone.

Yo stood nervously at his front door. What were you going to tell him? How were you going to explain to him why you ran out at lunch that day? How could you tell him why you've been avoiding him for 3 months?

You sighed and take a sharp intake of breath, then knocked on the door three times.

Nico appeared at the door just as you let your arms fall to your sides.

He took one look at you and closed the gap between you two. Giving you a tight hug. He loosened his grip and you just sat there in his embrace.

Finally his hands dropped from your waist and stepped aside to let you in. "Come on in." He said stretching his arm out.

You did and took in your surroundings. The walls had a glossy black look to them and the couches were black leather, basically everything was black and it was quite cossy. It even smelled exactly like him. It was the scent of vanilla and pomegranate that was so intoxicating you almost stumbled.

After closing the door and walking in front of he you he gestured to the hallway. "Let's go to my room." He said.

You gulped at the thought of being alone in a room with him but reluctantly you followed.

His room was simple. A black duvet set designed with skulls covered his king sized bed. His curtains were drawn so there was practically no Sun in the room.

Nico sat down and patted the seat next to him so you sat down and tried to steady your breathing.

It was a really uncomfortable situation for you. Firstly you were alone in a room with your crush. Second you were trying hard not to make yourself blush since it was so bright it could be seen though the dark.

Finally he spoke up. "That day...when I said Will and I are dating...why'd you run out like that?" 

He turned to stare directly at you and you tried to keep your breathing as evenly as possible though you think you stopped your breathing completely. "I-I ran out like that because...all my friends are getting into relationships and I guess I kind of feel like a 7th wheel...it felt like jealousy was eating me from the inside out...I couldn't stand it that one of my best friends was already in a relationship..." You looked down avoiding his gaze.

He nodded. "I'm sorry."

You started to tear up a bit. "I-It's not your fault I guess I'm just a little slow."

"Why have you been avoiding me for three months?"

You kind of had no answer to that but you made the mistake of looking at him because his eyes seemed to draw the answer right out of you. "I hated myself for being jealous I mean you're finally happy and I'm being selfish."

"(Y/N) everyone gets jealous. It's a natural feeling, and you do so much for me yet I never repay you properly."

"Thanks Nico but we both know  that isn't true."

"Yes it it." he took your hand between his. "Please promise me you'll start seeing me and talking to me again, I kind of missed our easy friend ship."

"Sure if you answer this one question."

Still holding your hand he said. "Shoot."

"How come you avoided me after the sleepover?"

His eyes were downcast. "I-I was embarrassed that Percy and Hazel assumed such things about us, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings." 

"Oh ok, thanks."

"One last thing (Y/N)."

"Yeah?"

"Would you come out with Will and I? He's a great guy -don't tell him I said that- but will you?"

Your heart tore in two pieces and the tears threatened to spill even more. "sure, just text me the info and I'll be there."

"That's Great! and (Y/N)..."

You looked at him. "Thanks for talking to me."

You smiled, a thin, small smile. You stood up from his bed looking at the time. "I should go mom and Percy will be worried."

"Wait (Y/N)!" He shot up and grabbed your arm before you could go out of the room. "I-I don't want to be alone, will you please sleepover?"

"Sure!" It was completely compulsive that you agreed but you panicked than only you thought of clothes and Percy. "B-but I don't have any spare clothes or a sleeping bag and pillows and blankets."

"I'll lend you an oversized hoddie and some sweats and we'll find you a place to sleep."

"Okay, let me just text Percy." Lucky for you he was okay with it since he was going to Annabeth's apartment.

Soon you were changed into the hoddie and sweatpants -which were both black- and they were way to comfortable. You didn't want to ever take them off they smelled like him, just like the rest of his house. 

"Here let's just sleep in my bed it's big enough for both of us." He said pointing to it.

You blushed at the thought of sharing a bed with him, under the same blankets....

He lifted the blankets and gestured for you to get in, you did and stuck your feet under the covers.

Turning the light off next to him he got in right next to you on your left. {To this day I still do not know the difference between left and right and I'm sixteen🙈}

 You pulled the covers up to your chin facing away from Nico.

It was really quiet and non of you moved though you could tell Nico was still awake from how tense his body was.

But just as you were falling asleep, Nico propped himself up on his elbow, he leaned over and kissed your cheek and whispered in your ear. "Good night (N/N)."

It sent shivers down your spine but did nothing to keep you awake. You closed your eyes and drifted into an endless sleep, dreaming about your stupid crush.
