Victoria
We all packed up our stuffs in a hurry and checked out of the hotel in a quick span of time. Part of the reason why we left so fast was because we were worried that someone had heard gunshots and had called the cops, even when JB showed us that he was using a silencer but we could never be so sure by staying for long. We took his car and drove back to the place where we just left this morning and when we pulled up in the driveway, we all noticed that people were rushing in and out of the house and packing up their things in a couple of SUVs parked outside.
"Stay inside, I'll be right back." JB told us before stepping out of the car and jogged his way inside the house.
"Do you think he's telling the truth? That we will be safe with him?" Zara asked while looking down on her lap.
"It's our only option here, we can't just leave right away because we don't know what might happen to us." She finally looked up at me and I caught the tears glistening in her eyes.
"What do I tell mom and dad?" I shrugged.
"Just tell them....that we will be staying in LA for a couple more weeks that's it." She inhaled deeply before pulling her phone out and started texting her parents.
"You should do the same Leah." She cast a glance my way and then looked away again.
"I already did." Since I was sitting in front, I shifted around in my seat to look at her.
"When?"
"When we were still in the hotel." I frowned in confusion.
"And what did you tell them?"
"That we were coming back tomorrow morning." I turned to face the front again and exhaled a deep breath.
Chill out Victoria, now it's not the time to be getting mad at your best friend.
"Well call them or text them back and tell them that we're not coming back tomorrow and we'll be staying here for a few more weeks." I told her in a stern voice while looking straight ahead.
"I can't do that! What if they ask why and started asking more questions?" I whipped around to face her again and narrowed my eyes at her.
"Well than tell them what I just told you! They'll have to understand that much why we had to stay around for awhile. I mean cmon, this is LA we're talking about, people love the excitement and the fun here! So make them understand that reason. We can't just tell them we had trouble with some bad guys the other night and we got attacked by some different bad guys this morning and that same bad guys from the club are now helping us escape to a private island god knows where and they said we'll be safe there till they're absolutely safe to let us go back home."
They kept staring back at me in surprise. I didn't mean to blow up all of the sudden, it's whatever is going on with us right now is what made me do it. I feel pressured right now, like I feel like all my emotions in me is going around and around like a freaking tornado and it's killing me.
I turned and looked outside the window and saw JB walking out of the house with two black duffel bags in both hands. He stopped and talked to all the guys standing outside before nodding at them and started heading back to the car. He opened the trunk, load his bags in, and get into the car and started driving us to the place where he only knows where.
"Who were those guys back at your place?" He briefly glanced at me before looking on the road again.
"They work for me, my gang members. And they're all packing up so we can all leave in our own different ways without leaving a single trace behind so that the guys that were after you this morning, won't find any of us. And yes, there's more of them."
Just recalling everything that had happened this morning, made me shiver with fear. My nose still feel sore from that nose breaking experience and I think I won't be able to erase those scenes away from my head. I bet, this will give me nightmares for weeks. JB kept driving for about thirty minutes till we pulled up at a beach side with cabins and a small wharf area where boats of all kinds and sizes were waiting.
He stepped out of the car first and we followed, he opened the trunk for us and handed us our suitcases and we grabbed the rest of our stuffs before following him. We walked up the wooden bridge where a huge white yacht was waiting nearby and JB climbed on deck first before helping Zara and Leah in. He gave me his hand and i hesitated at first before grabbing on to it and helped myself up.
But I was unlucky during that moment when my foot slipped and he automatically helped me steady myself by wrapping both his arms around my waist. I slowly lifted my eyes from ground and stare into his intense brown ones that were looking at me with so much confusion and amusement reflected in them. The whole staring contest lasted for about a minute till I finally snapped myself out of it and stepped away from the warm embrace.
He cleared his throat loudly and than pushed my suitcase towards me which i happily took away from his hand without actually looking at him.
"Are we ready to go?" Someone asked from behind me, causing me to flinch in surprise.
I turned around and saw that it was Alan and he smirked at me after catching that small flinch moment. Obviously enjoying my reaction.
"Yeah, tell cap we're all good." Alan nods before retreating back inside the cabin.
JB walked past me and when his arm lightly brushed against mine, I forced myself not to react to the feeling it gave me. He glanced at me and than nod for me to follow.
"You coming or what?" I slowly nod my head and followed him inside.
The inside of the yacht looks cozy and warm and even bigger then i actually thought, white plush couch on the side and a big dining table in the middle which could fit all of us, and a TV set on the other side. JB led me further inside and through a hallway and then opened the door to a room on the corner.
"You can have this room, your friends are staying in the ones that's located on the other side from here." I shot him a tight lipped smile and stepped inside the room.
"How long till we get to the island?" I turned around and asked. He scratched his head and looks away.
"Three hours I guess." I nodded and then looked past him and noticed the closed room behind him.
"Whose staying in that room?" He looked to where I was pointing and then looked back at me, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Me." He replied cooly.
Oookay....
Well staying in a room that's just across from his won't be a problem if i avoid running into him for the next three hours. I just hope we get there quickly.
"Well thanks, again." He nod once and closed the bedroom door in my face.
I glared at the door and swore at him under my breath. He may be hot and all, but he's still an asshole and a jerk with a cold attitude never mind the fact that he's helping us by keeping us safe.
