Chapter 40

The next day in the morning, Ali who was asleep wakes up and starts to yawn.

"Hm?" said Ali, as she saw that Maire wasn't in her hospital room. "Maire? Maire, where are you?"

Ali then looks everywhere for Maire, and even goes outside of the room and asks a nurse (a new medical nurse) to see if she has seen Maire. While arriving back to Maire's hospital room, Ali then calls Megan, who answers and puts her on speaker.

"Hello, Ali?" said Megan, through the phone.

"Megan, are you with the girls?" said Ali, through the phone, as she asked Megan.

"Yeah, we're in the lounge room right now. Why?" said Megan, through the phone, as she asked Ali.

"Just put me on speaker. Quick!" said Ali, through the phone.

Megan then puts her on speaker, so that the rest of the girls can hear her.

"Okay, you're on." said Megan, through the phone.

"Girls, I know you said that it was my responsibility to babysit Maire, right." said Ali, through the phone, as she was starting to sound worried. Well, more like watching over her, right."

"What did you do?" said Megan, through the phone.

"Spill it." said Kelley, through the phone.

"Okay, you're probably going to be really upset with me right now..." said Ali, through the phone.

"Wait, why?" said Kristie, through the phone.

"Ali, what happened? Is Maire okay?" said Allie, through the phone.

"Girls! Maire is missing!" said Ali, as she sharply shooted out her words.

"WHAT!" yelled all of the girls.

"Ali, where's Maire?!" said Sam, as she asked Ali, through the phone.

"I don't know! When I woke up, she was gone!" said Ali

"Gone?! Gone, where?" said Carli

"That's the thing I don't know!" said Ali

Just then, there was a knock on the door...

Knock Knock Knock.

The door is then opened wide enough, and Ali looks at the doorway seeing Maire (on a wheelchair), the doctor, and a medical nurse. The three of them then enter the room, as Ali makes a sigh of relief and stops talking to Megan and the girls on the phone. The three of them then looked at Ali in a confused way. Maire was holding a paper in her hands.

"Maire, where were you? I was looking everywhere for you?" said Ali, as she looked at Maire.

"The doctor and the nurse next to me, took me to run some tests," said Maire, as she looked at Ali. "Also, I knew that you were going to look for me, and decided to leave a note on the door."

Maire then gives Ali the paper, in which Ali takes it and starts to read it.

"Ali, they're going to run some tests on me. So, don't worry about anything, I'll be back soon. Signed Maire." said Ali, as she finished reading the note.

Ali then looks at Maire, and starts to turn red. She was so embarrassed about what happened. Just then, all four of them then started to hear the rest of the girls through Ali's phone.

"ALI! Ali, hello? Are you there? ALI?!" said Megan, through the phone.

"Come on, Ali, pick up!" said Tobin, through the phone.

"She's not answering." said Emily, in the background.

"I'm going, over there." said Tobin, in the background.
