Sapnap awoke from his sleep, the pain in his arm still there from last nights matters. He pulled the duvet from himself exposing his tired body to the cold air. He shivered looking at his alarm seeing he woke up on time today. He looked down at his arm, the sight made him tear up.
He threw on a hoodie ignoring the pain, but his face started stinging, he was reminded of the nasty looking bruise on his face. After putting on some jeans he walked over to his dirty mirror, covered in dust for he never bothered to clean it.
He touched the bruise, wincing at the sudden pain he inflicted on himself. How would he explain this to Dream, Dream would murder someone. Wait Dream. Sapnap rushed over to his phone picking it up and looking at the many unread messages from Dream.
Sapnap felt bad, Dream is going to blame himself for this. Sapnap sent him a quick text saying he was alright, he was planning to ring him after he escaped his horrible house. Sapnap fixed his messy hair and grabbed his bag. He opened it remembering the little bit of homework he had, only to see it had been done for him. Sapnap smiled realising Dream had done it for him, Dream really was a great friend.
He walked out of his bedroom door, listening for voices before proceeding down the hallway. He placed his bag over his shoulder. When he reached the kitchen he was happy to see nobody but himself was there. He walked over and made himself a real breakfast for once, making the quickest sandwich of his life.
When putting the ham back in the fridge, his arm knocked off the door. Sapnap froze with pain, trying not to shout, he hurried out the door, holding his arm. He really needed to stop this, it was a bad habit. He fumbled around with his pocket trying to fish out his phone.
He rang Dream, hoping he wouldn't be too worried. "SAPNAP, WHAT THE FUCK" Sapnap flinched at the hasty shouting, holding the phone away from his ear. "Dream, I'm sorry I really am. We can talk more about this when I..." Sapnap got caught on his words, recalling the blurred vision of his mother hitting him. "W-When I get there, promise not to get mad" He was much quieter this time, voice barely above a whisper.
Dream was silent on the other end, trying not to get mad. "Sapnap. What. happened" his voice was stern, being worried for his friend, not having enough patientence. Sapnap continued walking trying not to cry again, You idiot, you're making him worry. You're so selfish. "I'll explain when I see you, I-I got breakfast this morning. A whole sandwich" Sapnap said, trying to brighten their conversation.
He saw Dream already waiting at their spot where they meet every morning. He hung up, Dream was running towards him. Sapnap stopped where he was, thinking about how he would tell Dream about the bruise and the cuts.
Sapnap covered his cheek, where the bruise was before Dream reached him. He smiled when Dream was standing in front of him. "Hi" was all he said, waiting for what Dream would say. "Sapnap I was worried sick. You weren't there when I woke u- Why are you covering your face? What happened" Dream questioned, moving his hand to Sapnap's, he moved Sapnap's hand. His eyes widened.
"Nick...Oh my, c'mere" Dream suddenly pulled Sapnap into a hug. Sapnap slightly hissing in pain as he hugged back. "I swear to fuck, they did that to you?" was his first question. Sapnap could only nod. Sniffing, holding back tears.
"Did you...?" Dream didn't finish but Sapnap knew what he was referring to. "yeAh" his voice cracked. Dream pulled back from the hug "Show me Sap" he held out his hand. Sapnap looked him in the eyes, shaking his head.
