TWS: Mentions of abuse, Mentions of starving, Mentions of cuts(not sh) and Implications of drugs

Sapnap turned around and was met with his mother. She didn't look like her normal self, her face was dull, her normally bright green eyes had turned a dark misty colour. Her clothes seemed dirty and unwashed. Sapnap had never seen her do any washing now that he thinks about it.

Sapnap had to always take care of himself so that meant washing his clothes too. She stood above him for a few stray seconds. She looked as if she was thinking deeply about something or what to say perhaps. Sapnap broke the stare and looked back out to the darkening sky and watched the rain.

"Sapnap-" she finally broke the awkward silence. Sapnap looked back up to her not wanting to be rude. She sat down on the cold wet ground beside him but keeping a considerable distance between the two. She seemed caught on her words.

The clear rain continued to fall heavily. Splashing in the small puddles and soaking into the earth. "I don't even know where to start" she spoke with a soft voice, barely above a whisper. So quiet Sapnap was unsure if she even said anything at all. "I guess I'll start with an explanation" Sapnap sat quietly listening.

It was only then did he fully take in his mother appearance. She had little bruises littering her skin, small cuts at her hands, a sickly sweet smell and a faded bruise around her eye. Sapnap's eyes widened but not enough for her to see.

To say Sapnap was confused was an understatement. Where had she gotten the bruises? And the cuts? And what was the sweet suffocating smell?? "Your father has left, forever hopefully you'll be happy to hear" she laughed sadly after. Her eyes held a soft gaze at her son.

She took notice of everything, the bruises, the small cut on his face, the slightly bruised nose and much more. A frown formed on her face as a single tear slowly made its way down her cheek. Sapnap didn't say anything he only hummed and nodded. She continued talking.

"I'm going to ask for a divorce too" she smiled slightly while saying this. "And Sap-" she sniffed loudly. "I'm so so so so sorry for what I let him do to you, I know it is in no way forgivable. I was disgusted with myself and I still am. I'm so sorry you had to go through all that on your own. I wasn't there as a mother, for you" a small smile tugged at Sapnap's lips but in no way did it take away the great sadness he felt everyday.

"You let him starve me mom" Sapnap said with a broken voice. He looked at her with tears in his eyes, his eyebrows were furrowed. She looked taken back, "Sapnap I'm so so sorry. It was so wrong, I don't even know how to apologize for what I did. I-I hit you, I'll never forgive myself for that" Sapnap looked at her in surprise, she still remembers that?

"You did" Sapnap now looks away from her, the pitter patter of the rain now only in the background of their conversation. "I want to apologize for everything I let him do to you and what I did to you. I don't know how to put into words how sorry I am. It was so wrong of me, I know you'll never forgive me and I don't expect you to because what I put you through was so indescribably horrible"

Tears were running down her face as she spoke, Sapnap was also crying silently beside her. "I want to do everything I can to make it up to you, or to make you feel better. I'll try my best to be here for you now, I know you won't trust me with anything but if you ever need me I'm here for you" She put a hand on his shoulder, making Sapnap flinch.

Sapnap hadn't said anything, he didn't know what to say. He looked at her with sunken in eyes. "I don't even know what to say" his voice broke. His mother pulled him into a warm hug. "I don't expect you to say anything dear" he wrapped his arms around her returning the hug. He held on tightly as if the world would end if he let go.

He sobbed into her shoulder while she tried to comfort him.
