TWS: Slight mentions of abuse, panic attack.
Sapnap stopped in front of the woman standing there. She was wearing a clean red suit. Her caramel coloured hair sitting on her shoulders. She had light makeup on, she didn't need much to look pretty.
"Sapnap right? Hey! I'm the school counselor, you can just call me puffy" she spoke with a bright smile. Her bubbly personality shinning through. Oh great, the counselor. Sapnap forced a smile and responded with a small hey.
His eyes wondered around the halls, mind racing again. Why was she looking for him? Did Karl say something? Is this going to cause drama? Puffy waved her hand in front of Sapnap, bringing his attention back to her. He made awkward eye contact with her, well at least for him it felt awkward.
"Walk with me?" Sapnap nodded and trailed behind her slowly. The newly cleaned floors showing off a slight reflection of the two as they walked the colourful halls. There were posters for different clubs on the walls, looking for people to join.
Anti-bullying posters and even ones for mental health. Sapnap had never seen these before, he made a mental note to come back and look at them. Puffy made light conversation on their way, mainly talking about her day. Not telling him why he was there or where they were going.
They stopped in front of a dark blue door. A small sign of 'school counselor' wrote on the door. The letters outlined in a soft pink. It didn't look too welcoming for a counselors office which was meant to bring in troubled teens or students looking for help or reporting incidents.
She opened the heavy door with ease, inside was spotless. There were a few plants around the room. A dark coloured desk with some files and a laptop in the center. There were bookshelves on one side of the room filled with books and even more files. The floor had a black carpet fitting with the colours in the room.
The walls wore frames of all sorts, some were school related. Showing teams or special events in the school. Some had Puffy in her personal life, with her friends. They were probably put there in hopes of making the place seem more relaxed and comfortable. Maybe looking to relate to the students.
Puffy pulled out the chair that was tucked under her desk, she plopped herself down and let out a sigh. She smiled and pulled out a notebook. "Take a seat and could you please close the door" Sapnap did as she said and closed the door, he looked at some of the photos as he sat down in the free seat.
"So, Sapnap. You're probably wondering what you're doing here, yeah?" She pulled out a pen from nowhere and looked back to Sapnap. Sapnap looked back to her and nodded. "Yea I am a little confused" he let a slight giggle slip out. Puffy's smile brightened.
"Okay well good thing I know. I don't want to be too upfront but I'm just going to be" she spoke with a relaxed smile on her face. She did have a friendly aura around her. It made Sapnap's racing mind slow down a bit. He smiled at her indicating for her to continue.
"Now before I start, I won't tell your parents" Sapnap flinched at the word. "I'll only have to tell them if you're planning on ending your life or something alone those lines." She really was up front, adressing the topic quickly. "Now. Some other teachers and I have taken notice to your dull mood and those new looking bruises. Is it alright if I ask what happened? Are you being bullied?"
She spoke with ease, obviously doing this many times before. But the concern in her voice was real, her eyes showed true kindness. She lay back in her chair waiting for Sapnap to think. "Take your time there's no rush" her words were laced with care.
Sapnap's mind was nowhere as relaxed as the expression on his face. All he could think about is how this situation could escalate. He could just lie and say he got into a silly fight at this would be over with. But that wouldn't be right, he could continue to get more bruises.
What would Karl want? What would Karl do? Sapnap did want to get better, lying about it and not telling the people who could help is not going to make things better for him. he started playing with his hands, sweat building on his forehead. This decision was too hard to make.
It wasn't whether he didn't want the school to know about it. It wasn't that he didn't want help. It wasn't that he didn't know the answer. It was because he was scared. He was scared of everything that was happening. He was scared of his parents.
He shouldn't be having to deal with this at a young age. He should be out having fun with his friends, going to parties, making new friends. Except every hour he was awake he would be riddled with fear, fear of his parents, fear of staying out too long and coming back to a toxic household, fear of saying the wrong things, fear of eating too much.
There were so many things he was scared of, his brain couldn't handle it. Puffy was right, he did always have a dull mood at school. No matter how much he pretendted like he was happy and everything was okay it was hard to keep that act up for so long.
He still hadn't answered Puffy, yet she was sitting patiently waiting for his answer. His eyes started to fill with tears. He rubbed his eyes, a few tears escaping. He bit his lip trying and failing to stop himself from crying.
"No.." he wasn't even sure if Puffy heard him, his voice was barely above a whisper. He cleared his throat and looked up, his hands dropping to his side. "No, I'm not getting bullied. It- Its from home" the words seemed to strangle him. His chest pained and his heart rate quickened. He couldn't think straight and started shaking.
Just the sheer memories and thoughts about what his father did was enough to make him into this mess. He had tried to suppress the memories and not think about them. It had kept his panic attacks at a low. But now that he had to think about it, it was causing him pain.
It was different telling Karl because he had thought about it for so long. Where as now he only thought about it for 5 minutes. The topic was sprung upon him. Puffy made her way over to him in the speed of light.
She started patting him on the back, trying to comfort him. Everyone is different when you're getting comforted. Some people like hugs and like to be held, while others like to be alone. So Puffy was still unsure.

HEY IM BACK. SORRY FOR THE SHORT CHAPTER.
I just wanted to get something out, I should be back to normal uploading?
I'm thinking about making the chapters shorter the 2000 word ones are hard to write and they aren't that fun when I start struggling. So maybe I'll change it to around 1500 or more.
Thank you all for reading the chapterrrrr.
Have a great night/day
See you in the next chapter!
