Chapter 10 : Not around

I am currently walking to school. Today was gonna be a fine day since it's thurstday. On thurstday we only have 3 hours school and i'm pretty sure Lira wants to hang out after.

I walk up to Lira and Caleb talking.

"Hey" i say. "Hello, Kaya." "Hi" they say.

"Where's Alice?" i ask looking around. "She's just late." Caleb said and i odded. We talked for like 2 minutes before the bell rang and we went to class.

I walked to my desk and plopped down on my chair, and so did Lira. I looked at the teacher who was clearly not starting yet. I turn to Lira and she is blushing. What the...... oh wait! Noah.....ofcourse Noah.

I smiled from the thought. She tried to cover her blush from embarrassment. I look at her and without even saying that she should say something to him she already shakes her head slightly. I giggle. She's never nervous. I turn around slowly looking at Noah and then Miles.

"Goodmorning boys." I say. I was probably smiling like an idiot because of Lira's crush, but i don't care. "Goodmorning Kaya." Miles said smiling back at me while Noah mumbled a 'goodmorning'. He was looking at Lira probably daydreaming. I smiled at the thought again. Lira obviously didn't turn around but Noah just sat there staring at her back.

I looked at Miles who was looking at me. I nod towards Noah and then Lira. He immediately understands what i mean and smiles even wider. He's godamn smile.

He leans closer so he can whisper in my ear. "He's shy, and he is never shy." I giggled again but Noah didn't seem to notice at all. He's to busy studying Lira.

"Noah" i whisper finaly getting he's attention. I sign for him to come closer and he does. I whisper "She's nervous too. Say goodmorning, she will answer back."

He smiles at me slightly blushing. I lean farther away now sitting between my and miles' desk.

Noah said 'goodmorning' just like i told him too and she immediately aswered. Miles and i were watching them and they didn't even notice. How creepy are Miles and i?

The rest of class went by pretty fast and i was now picking up all my stuff to leave school.

Lira comes closer and asks "Will you go sit on the grass with me." I nodded and i put my last belongings in my bag.

Lira and i find a place to sit on the grass not to far from school. We talk about her crush on Noah before she suddenly changes the subject. "Kaya tell me honestly i'm you're best friend. Do you like Miles?" She asked.

Even if i'm going to lie about it she already knows.

"Yes, i do." I say. She smiles and jumps up and down saying "I knew it, i knew it, i knew it." I just sat there laughing at how happy she was by my crush.

When she sits back down i hear a familiar voice from behind me. "Mind if we sit here?" I looked at Lira who immediately answered. "No ofcourse not."

Miles sat in between me and Lira and Noah on the other side. so now that we were sitting in a circle Noah and Lira shared some glances.

Lira's phone rang and she quickly closes it again. "I have to be home by 10 pm." and i nodded.

"When do you need to be home?" Noah asked me. "My dad is almost never home. He doesn't really care just 'be safe' is what he always says." I tell him honestly. "And your mom?" He asked.

I saw Lira shifting a bit. She knows exactly how hard that period was for me. But i just shrug it off quickly.

"She's not around anymore." I said. "Shit, sorry." He says. "No, it's okay. What about you guys?" I quickly change the subject.

"Mom is not worried about us she knows how strong we are." Miles said flexing his muscles. I chukkle.

"Are you really brothers?" Lira asked. Noah and Miles turn to Lira and Noah says "It's complicated."

Lira lookes a little confused but nods. "Okay my parents died when i was young. He's mom adopted me." He explained. "I'm sorry." i say. "It's okay, he's mom cares more then my parents ever did so in a weird way it's a gift." he said and i gave him a weak smile.

"My parents are just really busy." Lira tells us. "My dad too." I answer. "My mom is like always around but at the same time has all her work done." Miles said. "Damn." i say smiling. "Yeah she's awesome." Miles said. "Yep she is." Noah agreed.

"And your dad?" Lira asked. I saw Miles stiffen at the mention of he's dad. "You don't have to tell us if you don't want to." I quickly say. He gives me a weak smile and says "He just isn't around either."

It stayed silent for a bit. Lira filled the silence. "Make up your mind?" she askes me and i definitely agree. I jump up ready to dance to our song. Lira looks on her phone and finds it fast and puts it on. We start dancing and it's almost like were kids again.

"What's happening?" Noah asked looking at us laughing a bit. "This song is the song that cheeres us up." Lira explained. It's been our cheer up song since we were little and it always will be.

"Ofcourse you 2 have a cheer up song." Miles says while laughing hard. "And what about it." I said while still dancing.

We dance for a couple more second before Lira whispers in my ear quickly. "We have to get them to dance. Take Miles i'll take Noah." I chukkled at that.

I walked over to Miles who was staring at me with amusement. "Come on big boy, let's dance." I stick my hand out to him. He hesitates for a second but grabs my hand. We start dancing like idiots and sing super loud not long after Noah and Lira do the same. We dance and sing and laugh of each others dance skills and especially the false singing. When the song ended we all sit down on the grass still laughing super hard.

We were done laughing when Noah spoke up. "I haven't had that much fun in a while."

"I agree, that was ridiculous." Miles said holding a giggle.

"Shit!" Lira yells. I look at her confused. "I need to be home in 10 minutes!" she says while panicking a bit. "Lira calm down we'll make it but we gotta run." i say while taking my stuff.

"It was really fun today i'll see you two tomorrow." Noah said. "Yeah tomorrow." Lira mumbled. "See you tomorrow." Miles said. "Tomorrow." i yelled back while i was already backing away Lira following close behind. When we were about 5 feet away i started sprinting. Lira followed behind and we reached her house on time. We said our goodbye's and i went home too.

I fell asleep so quickly i barely remembered dropping myself on the bed.
