I woke up today of only 2 hours of sleep. After the announcement yesterday i couldn't close my eyes for long. I kept seeing Miles and Noah.
They wouldn't. I kept thinking.
I will not fight them. Even if i tried i don't think i could. In school Lira and i did as if nothing was wrong. We decided yesterday that i would ask Miles about this. Only i didn't find the courage to even look at him. I was scared to meet his eyes every time but i had to or else he would for sure know something is up. Also this morning when i woke up i realised i never called Miles back after i promised i would.
By the last bell i jumped out of my chair taking all of my stuff. I felt a tap on my shoulder and when i turned i saw Miles. "Can we talk?" he asked and not really knowing what to say i nodded. I turned back around taking my back and sending Lira a glance. She nodded knowing what's going on and she returns too talk to Noah.
I follow Miles out of school and we stop when we are standing far away from the entrance of school. He turns facing me and leaning on the grey wall of school. "So, you didn't want to talk yesterday?" He asked. He's expression was a bit annoyed i geuss. His brows were pulled up waiting for an answer and obviously i knew he would be a bit pissed.
"I'm sorry. I was distracted yesterday and after the announcement i just forgot to call you." I admitted truthfully. I observed his face and all he did was giving me a small nod. "What did you want to talk about?" I ask curious. "About the party." I looked a bit shocked. The party?
"What about it?"
"You don't remember?" He asks, i really can't read his expressions.
"I remember everything clearly from the party i wasn't that drunk." I chukkle and he laughs too looking down at the ground. "About the kiss, Kaya." He breaths out. He looks back up and waits for what i'm about to say.
"Almost kissed." I correct him. He has a small smile on his face which makes me smile too. "It's not a big deal Miles. We were just drunk, right?" He looks at me and waits a bit until he nods. His small smile is already gone as if it was never there. "Yep, i just wanted to clear it up."
"Okay." I said awkward.I should ask him. What am i gonna ask?
Just do it, Kaya."Miles?" I ask looking up at him. He looks right in my eyes waiting for what i am about to say again.
"Do you think .....one day....maybe... angels and demons will fight. For power." I stuttered a bit before getting it out.He furrows his brows in a confused look. Whatever he thought i was about to say it surely wasn't this.
"Euhm...i don't know. I don't think that will happen anytime soon. Why do you ask?"
He focuses on me letting his eyes see every single detail on my face. It makes me more nervous then i already was.Don't lie. I thought.
"I was wondering." I said quickly. I haven't lied, i really was wondering. "Do you think it will happen anytime soon?" He asks me calmly. I step back not able to move my mouth. I shake my head 'no'.
He sights frustrated half turning away from me. He looks at the ground and he talks to me through clenched teeth.
"Everyone can tell you're lying even angels could've seen you just lied." He kind off murmered. "I didn't lie." I almost whispered taking another step back. "Yes, you did and you just did it again." He cursed under his breath stepping towards me and grabbing my shoulders. He comes so close his face is inches away of mine. Our noses almost touch. I let out a shaky breath.
"Why would you say stuff like that, Kaya? Is something happening?" He asked still with a calm voice.
