Luna POV:
It's been amazing at Ginny's house so far. Everyone is so kind and generous to me when I do the same to them. I've even gotten my own sweater form Mrs. Weasley! It's blue and silver, just like my house. But the thing that makes this time even more amazing is Ginny herself. It's like she's some soul mate practically made for me. She's so nice and loving to me, but she's also not afraid to speak her opinion, regardless of if it's not a very good one.
Today, I'm going in the woods with Ginny. We're going to try to find more animals, and maybe we'll go to diagon alley for some ice cream after. But for now, I'm having breakfast with the Weasley family as always. Mrs. Weasley's waffles are amazing, so soft and sweet at the same time. I see Ginny grab something off the counter, and I ask her what it is.
"Oh, it's blueberry cream! It tastes really good with waffles, do you want to try it?"
"Sure, I'll never back down from something new," I reply cheerfully. I spread the blueberry cream on my waffles, and I take a bite. Wow. It's so good! It's a little tart and smooth, and smells like heaven.
"This- this might be the best thing ever," I say to Ginny, and she smirks at Ron.
"See, Ron? Blueberry cream is the best, Luna said it herself!"
"Nah, she hasn't tried strawberry cream yet, it's loads better," Ron says, passing me a jar of strawberry cream. I shrug, before spreading some on and eating it. It's sweet, but nothing special.
"I think I like the blueberry cream better," I say, smiling.
"Hah!" Ginny says, punching Ron in the arm, "I win!"
Ron looks annoyed at me, and I laugh with Ginny, when I see George carrying a large box. "Hey guys, make sure to no-" George starts, before tripping and falling on the couch. He's lucky, but the box isn't. Whatever's inside there breaks into a million pieces, and glass flies everywhere.
"Ah, sorry! My mistake, sorry..." George yelps, and uses his wand to pick up the pieces. I look at the mess, and while everyone else is forgiving him, I look inside the box and see a shimmering liquid inside. I smell it. Hm, it smells like maple wood, cinnamon, and...
"George, why did you buy loads of Ginny's perfume?" I ask.
Ginny looks inside and says, "That doesn't look like my perfume. Are you ok? It smells nothing like my perfume. It smells like lavender, fresh grass, and Luna's sham-" Ginny stops, looking surprised. Just then, I spot a bottle that's not broken, and I look at the label. I gasp, reading the first few words.
"It's amortentia," George whispers in my ear, "It's supposed to smell like what attracts you. C'mon, I'll pretend it's perfume or something."
My eyes widen. Oh god. Does this mean that I'm attracted to Ginny? No way. But the more I think about it, I notice that, yeah, I've kinda been attracted to her. And by the looks of it, Ginny is attracted to me too. I look at Ron, who's looking embarassed.
"It's a- er- smell changing perfume! It's supposed to smell differently depending on what kind of person you are," George says hastily, fixing the bottles and cleaning the amortentia. "Thanks for not telling anyone," I whisper in George's ear. George smiles at me and leaves, mess cleaned. Ginny and I look at each other, before Ginny clears her throat.
"C'mon, let's go to the woods."
"Y-Yeah, let's go," I say, turning red. We walk out and lie down on the soft grass. We sit in silence, before Ginny pipes up. "You read the bottle, right? That's no smell changing perfume."
"Yeah, I know. It's amortentia. And yes, I did smell your perfume," I say quietly.
"Huh," Ginny says, blushing. "I smelled your shampoo."
"Is- Is it true then? Do you like me?" I ask. Ginny hesitates, before looking at me.
"Yes," She whispers. My eyes widen, before I smile.
"Really? Me too," I say, smiling.
"No way," Ginny exclaims, putting a hand on her chest.
"It's true! I like you. I like you a lot."
"In a friend way?" Ginny asks, looking scared.
"Maybe...something more?" I say, hesitant. "I think maybe I love you."
Ginny takes my hand, and we look at the trees. "I love you too."
I smile dreamily, before looking at a particular tree and it's branches. "Look, mistletoe. Did you know that wrackspurts tend to live there? They float into people's brain, usually when they- er- kiss. It's why people feel so empty-headed when they- you know-" I trail off looking at it.
"Really? I didn't know that," Ginny says, before kissing me. At once, I feel blank space where my mind should be, and my eyes widen in surprise. Then, I get a feel for it, and slowly close my eyes, enjoying the moment. The kiss is long, passionate, delightful. Man, I haven't talked about kissing this way. Nevertheless, we break apart, pink in the face. Ginny smiles sweetly, taking my hand again.
"I love you, Luna."
