Ginny POV:
We need a place to leave this school....We need a place to leave this school....
"You did it," Luna says next to me. I open my eyes. Sure enough, there is a door where a blank wall once was. We open the door and see a single painting. We look at each other, before examining the painting. The painting has many green and red circles. We brush over the painting, before I feel something.
"This one is a button!" I say, pushing a green button camouflaged as a circle in the painting. A moment of silence, then the painting swings open. We smile before climbing in.
"It's really dark in here," Luna says, batting at the air. "There are loads of wrackspurts here. Don't try to get distracted!"
We laugh and continue climbing, Luna continuously batting the air, until we see a hole. This hole is wide, and we don't know how long it will go for.
"You want me to go first?" Luna asks.
"No, I'll go first. I'll tell you if it's safe or not," I say firmly. I don't want to lose my girlfriend to a hole. I take a deep breath, and jump in. I suppress the urge to scream as I fall.
"Arresto momentum!" I cry, and I stop slowly, before falling the rest of the way. I look around. This seems to be a sort of room, with lanterns and crates around. "Luna!" I exclaim, "It's safe! You can follow through!"
I don't hear any response from Luna, but in a few seconds she joins me on the ground. "I didn't know that you could do the arresto momentum spell non-verbally," I say, impressed.
"I practice every now and then," She says, shrugging. "What is this place?"
"It's a room of sorts. Take a lantern, in case everywhere else is dark," I say, grabbing a lantern. Luna follows me, a lantern in her hand, and we set off together, wands at the ready. We walk until we see a door, with a window showing a bright light on the other side. I look at Luna, surprised to see her pale as a sheet of paper.
"Luna, all you alright?" I ask.
"I'm scared, Ginny. If we fail, we could go to Azkaban. We might get the dementor's kiss!" Luna says in a shaking voice. I take her hands and rub them gently.
"Luna, we'll be fine. We can do this."
"Who says we can?" She whispers. This question throws me for a loop. Yeah, Ginny, what makes you say that you'll be fine, a mocking voice pipes up in the back of my head. I sigh.
"To be honest, Luna, I don't really think we can do this," I say, the words honest.
"Well, maybe we should plan first? Then we'll feel more prepared," Luna suggests.
"You're right. Well, we can't just storm in, we'll be caught."
Luna chews her lip. I can only assume she's thinking of a way, she's the most clever Ravenclaw I know. Ok, to be honest, I only know two Ravenclaws, Luna and Cho, but still. Luna's eyes suddenly turn bright.
"We could turn invisible! Do you know the spell to make us invisible?" Luna asks.
"No, do you?"
"No," Luna says, before gasping, "But I think I have a potion to become invisible in here!"
She rummages in her bag until she shows me a thick potion. "We only have enough for one, though..."
I look through the door's window. I can't see anything except large black blobs floating in the air.
"Ok, looks like there are dementors swarming the door in front of us. I'll cast a patronus, and you can turn invisible and make a run for Harry."
"To be honest, that isn't a good plan. For one, I'll need to cast another patronus spell for every other room I need to go through to find Harry and the others, and it'll reveal that someone is trying to break in."
"Yeah, but it's the best plan we've got! C'mon, Luna, if you're not going to do this, I'll do it."
I expect Luna to agree, but she straightens her shoulders and says, "You know what? I'll do it. I want to save my friends!"
"Ok, are you ready? Do you need a moment?" I ask anxiously.
"Yes, I do need a moment," Luna says, before kissing me, a long, anxious kiss. We break free, and I hold the handle of the door, which seems to be unlocked.
"G-Ginny?" Luna asks me in a small voice.
"Yes?"
"Be careful out there. I love you."
