Luna POV:
"Aw, look! She's so defenseless without her little ginger sidekick!" Pansy sneers at me.
I look around, and sure enough, Ginny isn't there. "Where is she?" I demand.
"Over here," the soft voice of Lucius Malfoy rings above me.
I turn back to see a death eater holding Ginny and pressing a knife to her throat. I scream in terror. "You can't have her! Have me instead!" I yelp.
Lucius Malfoy just shakes his head, smiles, and points his wand at me. At once, what seems to be dozens of dementors swarm me. I grab my wand, but it's not there. A dementor slams me to the wall, and I see it lower it's hood....
I gasp and wake with a start. I can feel my heart beating very quickly, but one look around Ginny's bedroom and I know that it was just a dream. Still, I feel sweaty and nervous, like something's going to jump out at me an second. Just then, I hear a soft groan beside me. I look at what made the sound to find Ginny, still fast asleep next to me. I smile, knowing that Ginny's still there.
I feel my nose. I guess the pill that Ginny gave me stopped my nosebleed. I rub my eyes and yawn, my head feeling clear and not fuzzy and heavy anymore. Then, I hear more groaning from Ginny. She seems to be saying something.
"No...no, please...not her, take me instead....help," she says softly. I bend down to stroke her hair, just like what my mom would do whenever I had a bad dream. At once, Ginny wakes up, looking very groggy.
"Where- where are they? They'll kill you..." She says, her mind in her dream.
"Shhhh, no one's killing me. See?" I say softly. It helps. Ginny's eyes clear of any fog, and she looks at me.
"Oh, hello Luna," She says, "How are you feeling? Do you need another one of those pills? Or maybe I'll get you another blanket, and-"
"Ginny, it's ok. I feel loads better now, thanks to you," I say, cutting her off. Ginny immediately relaxes.
"Good. You ate George's test fudges, they were supposed to be a kind of mix between a nosebleed nougat and a fever fudge. Oh, your face is covered in blood. Here. Tergeo!"
I instantly feel my face wipe clean of blood. I feel my bloodless face, grinning. "Well, that explains a lot," I say, shrugging.
"I'm just glad to know that you aren't dying or anything," Ginny grins. We sit in silence, before I bring up what has been on my mind for a while now.
"Ginny, be honest. Why did you stand up for me when no one else did?"
Ginny looks a me a while before saying, "What do you mean?"
"Well, think about it. Loads of people bully me, laugh at what I wear and what I do. Even some of my friends think that I'm weird. But you don't. Why?" I continue.
Ginny scratches her face, hesitating for a moment, before answering. "Well, you looked like you needed some help. You aren't a bad person, after all. You've done nothing to make people act like this around you. You are a kind, amazing person, but I didn't like that people didn't see you for that and instead saw you for your weirdness. And, frankly, you looked so lonely."
I stare at her, taking in everything she said. "Wow. Ginny- thank you. For everything, I guess. I would never be able to repay you."
Ginny shrugs it off. "Well, I would've done the same to anyone. Well, maybe except a few people," She says, winking. We laugh for a while, before sitting in more silence.
"This is kinda nice, you know? First you save me, and then I save you," Ginny says, grinning. I cut her off with a kiss. A ray of sunlight hits us, and we fall over on the bed.
I'm so overwhelmed with emotion that in the very moment, I completely forget all my troubles.
