You sprung up straight, accidentally hitting your head against the planks above you.
"Ow-" You said, rubbing your forehead.
You really needed to lift that up more. You moved the warm blankets off of you, getting out of bed. You walked towards the large window across the room. You winced as the bright rays of light shined in your eyes. You opened the window and inhaled the crisp sweet smell of air - you lived in the forest alone, there was a small town nearby so you could easily get supplies without much work.
Going through the nether and mines just to get simple brewing items was a pain.
You shuffled over to the kitchen, grabbing a loaf of bread and cutting a slice out of it to toast. You poured yourself a nice glass of juice and sat down at your table. You took a sip out of your cup, enjoying the serenity of everything. You jumped as something zoomed past you and into the wall. You had spit out your juice, but you would clean that up later. You had more important things to attend to like figuring out what just happened.
You slowly got out of your seat, grabbing a sword and un-sheathing it. You cautiously approached what seemed to be a bird. You assumed you were correct cause as soon as you poked it softly, it started fluttering. You blinked quizzically, now withdrawing your sword to your side.
It was a Songbird, it had a neatly rolled up note tied with a red ribbon in its mouth. You smiled as you took it from its beak. You listened to the sounds of it chirping as you unrolled the scroll.
It read, 'Y/n L/n, we are pleased to inform you that the royal family has invited you to become their personal potions master. With this role you will work along side your fellow workers and brew potions, help with spells, etc. If you accept, please travel to the castle by tomorrow and we shall take you in gratefully.'
Your mouth fell open, you were confused yet happy in a way. Did you really get offered a position as the royal families potions master? It did have the official stamp on it, so it had to be true. You contemplated wether or not you should go. Would it be good for you? Would you need to provide the supplies? Were the working habits harsh?
You shook your head clear of those thoughts and filled it with positive ones. It could have good pay. Your co workers could be friendly. You might evolve in experience. The possibility of having a bad workspace is most likely to happen but it was just a risk you were willing to take. You've definitely seen worse. You rolled the scroll back up and placed it on the table.
You turned to the Songbird and gently stroked its back, hearing its melody before it flew off. You wasted no time after it left, you gathered essential items and stuffed them in your travel pouch. You packed some Blaze powder and Nether Wart just in case they didn't provide any.
Once your pouch was full you set it to the side for tomorrow. You went out back and around your house to the pens where your horse stayed, the grass crunching under your bare feet. You made sure your trusty stead would be ready for your trip. You made your way back inside, feeling millions of butterflies erupt in your stomach. You were nervous for tomorrow.
What if the royal family didn't like you. What if you made a bad first impression. Surely you wouldn't embarrass yourself in front of them. Your mind continued to be clouded with these thoughts all morning - you hated this feeling.
You wanted all your nerves to go away. Maybe you could brew some potions, that always seemed to calm you down. You made your way to the bedroom and opened the door. You went to the back, now stood in front of an item frame which contained a single Wither Rose.
You twisted the Black Rose three times, causing a doorway to be revealed. You entered, the exit shutting behind you as you made your way down the dimly lit hall. When you walked in you could smell the familiar scent of gunpowder and red stone, both of which you used when brewing potions.
You grabbed three water filled glass bottles and placed them in your brewing stand. You grabbed the jar of Glistening Melons from on top of the shelf and mashed them till they were mushed up. You threw it in with some Nether Wart, Red-stone, and Glow-stone powder along with Blaze powder to fuel the brewing stand.
You smiled as smoke started emitting from the stand signaling it was brewing. While that was in progress you started prepping other ingredients for your next couple of potions - it's times like these when your thankful for being smart enough to put multiple stands in here.
Once you were done and multiple potions were brewing, you sat on the counter and enjoyed the sounds of bubbling broths.
