It's been a week since the boys came to visit. They couldn't come over so they made sure to write to you everyday and what they did. You loved getting their letters in the mail - it gave you something to look forward to. But today you wouldn't need to read their daily updates since you were coming back to work. You managed to keep it a secret from them so you could surprise the family.

You were looking forward to going back to the castle so you actually got up pretty early to get dressed. Before you left you made sure your satchel was packed and that your tools were sharpened, after what happened last time you needed to be more prepared.

You rushed your horse to get there quicker. You missed going out like this. Not once have you rode your horse since you became injured.

You hopped off your steed as quickly as possible and ran into the halls of the castle. You could barely contain your excitement. You rapped on Esters door until she answered.

"Hello-" You cut her off by jumping into her arms. She gasped. "Y/n! Your back!" She hugged you tightly.

You laughed. "I missed you Ester."

"I missed you too." She pulled away, holding your hands. "Do the others know?"

You shook your head. "No i'm going to surprise them."

She smiled. "That's a great idea! May I come with."

"Of course, let's go now so we can all catch up." You turned around, pulling her out of the doorway.

The two of you sprinted into the garden yelling both their names. "Hannah, Niki!" You waved your hand to get their attention.

They looked up in sync. Their faces lit up. "Y/n!" They both dropped the things in their hands and ran towards you.

Niki and Hannah embraced you as soon as they got the chance which caused you to stumble back a little.

"Oh Y/n i'm so glad your here." Nikis eyes widened. "Wait this isn't just a visit right? Please don't tell me it is."

You laughed. "Don't worry i'm back from vacation."

She clapped her hands together. "Oh good!"

Hannah let go of you and patted your back. "Welcome back Y/n."

You faced her, smiling. "Thanks Hannah."

Ester put a hove on your shoulder. "Oh by the way, is Karl in? We wanted to stop by sometime today with you guys."

Niki looked over to Hannah. "Hm I don't know. Do you know Hannah?"

"I'm pretty sure he's in but I haven't seen him all day which means he's busy."

Ester chimed in. "Makes sense that he's busy, after all the royal family's having a fancy ass dinner with Lady Eonia and her family." She faced you. "Best not to disturb him."

Your lips pursed. "Wait what dinner?"

Ester glanced back at the two girls then back at you. "Um well, I don't really know but I heard from my friend that Lady Eonia is gonna try to court Wilbur at that dinner."

Your eyes narrowed. "Well when is it?"

"Well uh..." She pulled the collar of her shirt outwards and gulped. "Tomorrow."

Your mouth fell open.

Ester took your hands in theirs. "But don't worry lass i'm sure it's just a rumor."

You scoffed. "Ester you love to gossip. If this information wasn't true you wouldn't be telling it to everyone."

She frowned. "Okay you caught me. I'm sorry lass."

You cleared your throat. "Don't be sorry, i'm not upset or anything."

Nikis face saddened.

You smiled to put her at ease. "Don't worry guys i'm fine I swear. Now come on, I want to go see Bad and Dream."

They all looked at each other and smiled. "Alright let's go."
