You hopped out of the wall, your feet hitting the floor with a thud. The fortunate carpet helped suppress the sound. You slowly closed the door behind you. It creaked causing you to stop, you made sure to close it slower afterwards. At this point you remembered the way to your workshop since you went there frequently. But it was hard because you only had the light of the moon to help you see clearly.
Your hands searched for the door knob, once you got hold of it you twisted it open and stumbled forward. You went towards a stool that was placed near the counter, you grabbed your cloak which was on it and clipped it on. You scooped up all the different gems you had gained earlier and added it to your small money bag which you then stuffed inside your pouch.
You were about to leave when a thought came to mind, you wouldn't be in the castle tomorrow since you were offered a day off. You then remembered about the order you had received from Wilbur. You pondered for a moment before finally coming up with a solution - you would simply work on it now. Sure it was night outside already but you would hate to give him the potions late. Maybe you could just stay here for the night.
You took your cloak off and set it back down, along with your pouch. You prepared three glass bottles as you read over the list of potions he wanted.
"Night vision... Invisibility... Strength..." You mumbled out in a low voice. "Right, let's get to work."
You taped the piece of paper onto the cupboards in front of you so you wouldn't forget what to brew. You gathered all of the essential ingredients you would need for each one and separated them into groups. You were too lazy to mash everything up so you crushed all the things that needed to be mushed with your hand instead, honestly it worked the same.
Time flew by surprisingly fast once you started working, you didn't even realize it had already been an hour.
You looked over at the clock that hung on the wall across from your window. "Holy shit it's twelve AM already!"
You hurriedly attached the potions onto your belt and rushed out the door. You made sure to keep quiet as you dashed in the hallways. You could've traveled through the secret passageways but you did not want to go through there at night knowing how dark it already was when it was day.
Even if you have gone through the tunnels you would still have no clue where to find Wilbur. So, why not ask a friend. You decided to go to Tommy, after all he was Wilburs brother. Tommy had mentioned during your guys conversation how he had added these two frames of discs besides his door, which is how you found his room in the first place.
Once you found it you caught your breath, panting hard. You rapped on the door, waiting for someone to answer. You didn't expect him to get there quickly since it was nighttime.
When the door swung open, you were met with a half asleep Tommy. "What the- Y/n? Whatta you doin' here?" He rubbed his eye, yawning.
"Well i've decided to make one last minute delivery and it just so happens it's Wilbur's potions so...do you think you can help me find his room?"
He stretched out. "Don't bother trying to find his room he's never there at this time."
Your eyebrow shot up in confusion. "Oh?"
His stance relaxed again. "Yeah he tends to hang out in the throne room at this hour for some reason." He yawned again. "Just go there and you'll find 'em."
You smiled. "Thanks Tommy. You can go back to sleep now."
"Oh I plan on it. Night Y/n." He said, shutting the door.
"Night Tom."
So the throne room huh. You tried to think back on where it was when you had first came here. Eventually, it had clicked in your head where it was and you wasted no time on getting there. It was already late and you could feel your body getting slower by the minute. Once again, you were greeted by a big door just like before. You could hear faint music from inside. You pushed the door open to where you could peek in just a tiny bit.
You found him, his back against the thrones arm rest and his legs draped over the other. The light shone directly on him. He held an old looking guitar in his arms, his hand strumming along as he hummed a soft tune. You tilted your head as you quietly listened in, completely forgetting the reason why you were looking for Lord Wilbur in the first place.
You could doze off to his calm melody, it was nice. You closed your eyes as you blocked out noise other than Wilburs strumming. You could've stayed there forever just listening to him. You actually began to doze off, causing you to jump a little. As you did the sound of your potions clinked together which got the attention of Lord Wilbur. Your eyes met with his dark brown ones.
"Lady Y/n?" He questioned.
You stiffened as you fully pushed the door open. "Uh hey Wilbur, sorry if I caught you by surprise."
He gave you a sweet, soft smile. "No not at all." He turned his body towards you. "Please, come in." He gestured for you to come forward.
You nodded and walked over to the middle throne where he was. He slid over to the side and patted the space next to him. You gladly took the seat besides him, your feet were absolutely killing you from running all over the place trying to find him.
"Y/n."
You looked at him. "Yes?"
"Is there a reason you're here tonight? I thought you'd be home by now." He said.
"Yes actually I came here because of you Wilbur."
His face began to turn a light shade of red, you could tell he wasn't expecting that. "Um, me?"
You giggled at him. "Yes you." You reached for the potions and unclipped them from your side, handing it to him. "I had to deliver these."
His expression softened. "You could've just delivered them tomorrow you know." He took them from your hands.
"That's the thing, you see tomorrow I won't be in the castle because King Phil offered me a day off for all my hard efforts and I really didn't want to give these to you late." You looked down at your feet, smiling.
Wilbur placed the potions besides him. "Well thank you, Y/n." He chuckled softly. "Now I feel bad for accidentally keeping you here this late."
Your eyes widened. "Oh no no please don't feel bad that wasn't my intention really."
"Hey hey, it's alright don't worry. It's just, now how are you going to get home? It's way to dark and there are probably tons of mobs on the way there."
Your lips pursed. "That is a good point. Now that you mention it I don't know how I will. I'll probably just fight them off."
"Are you sure? I'd hate for you to get hurt." He faced you. "If you'd like you can sleep in my room for the night."
"Really? I don't want to kick you out of your own bed."
"It's fine, i'll sleep on the floor if it means you get to be safe."
You could feel your face heat up. You really didn't want to intrude but seeing him so concerned you couldn't say no. "Alright, i'll stay here for the night."
His face looked less worried now. "We should sleep now then, it's very late."
You nodded, standing up with him as you both made your way out of the throne room.
