Chapter 11- Liar

That morning:

Itachi and Pain were waiting for me outside.

- Let's go! – I yelled excited at them, and by their look they didn't expected it from me. Maybe the second chance of living made me a little bit more excited about everything. Or it was the fact that I'm afraid to get angry ever again so I'm giving my best to be positive looking...

- Well, let's go, you two. – Pain walked us to a path I haven't walk trough before.

- It's a secret road if you're wondering where are we going. – Itachi said to me

- Oh. I see. Then why we are taking this road if the mission isn't that special?

- The jonin I want you to assassinate is known for his hiding techniques. You read the file, right? – Pain raised his eyebrow

- Of course, I did. I just didn't pay enough attention at the details.

- You are getting distracted and less concentrated, I don't like it. From now on, you are alone, it's enough help from me. – Pain ended up the conversation, and leaving us.

- I needed to talk to you, don't get angry, but Pain has right. It's like you are hiding something. Does something happen back then? - Itachi was surprisingly talkative today, isn't he...

- You made him angry for sure! – He was laughing at the imagination of Sasuke being interrupted by some girl

- I think so. Let's get done with this mission.

- Don't take Pain's words too deep. He was worried too, you can't blame him for being cautious.

- I know he is right.

- Stop. Look over there. – he pointed at the guy from the picture in the file Pain handed me yesterday.

- Bingo. – I jumped on the ground throwing a knife at the jonin, who was securing the surroundings.

He avoided it and made some hand signs after which the ground started shaking, changing its form. Itachi was behind me, blowing fire at him with his jutsu. I sneaked behind the jonin, cutting his throat with my other knife. Soon he was a laying corpse on the ground.

- This was too easy.

- You need simple missions too, even after your last one. – Itachi was already walking through our way home – Let's go back.

I just followed him, soon getting home. This night everyone was in the living room, playing games together. They didn't want to, but after a few pouted faces they couldn't say no. I hadn't remembered such night with all the members. They all seemed relaxed and having fun but I couldn't stop thinking about the cursed seal on my neck. I can't lie all my life, yeah. A day will come where I won't have another choice, but seeing them safe and happy is what matters and I don't want to lose this feeling.
