Chapter 20 - The eyes of an artist

Week has passed since my confession in front of my comrades, since Pain took the chance to train me, since I mastered everything he told me, except of the rinnegan and the different elements for my chakra. We've had training every single day, most of the times ending with me, fainting. Pain got concerned with the time, but I told him it's all right and he shouldn't be alarmed of it. My body didn't have the enough time to recover, so this week is a break from the training, just because I can't move without feeling awful pain.

Itachi is still not talking to me, he only said he is sorry once, and since then we haven't talked. The same doesn't go for Deidara though. He is helping me with making me food, cleaning my room and talking more and more with me, because I can't even leave my bed. Of course, others are coming to see me too, just to not feel lonely.

I had to finish some chores I had, but Deidara of course came to my room since the morning.

- Are you hungry, un? -he showed his head from the crack door.

- No, I don't have appetite. – I was actually feeling a little dizzy, but tried to skip that part, just to don't make him worrying for nothing.

- You are sick, hm. You always have breakfast, yeah. – He closed the door, going somewhere and then he returned with a box with label "Pills" on it. He shouldn't know me that well, sheesh.

- I'm not! I'm feeling amazing! – I lied to him, trying to get out of the bed to show him that I'm feeling good but as I get up from it, everything got blurry, soon black and I fainted again. Good he was around me to catch me.

- You're so stupid, you know? – I was barely hearing his words but I couldn't even respond. He laid me back on my bed, getting a chair to sit near me as he started taking out some pills from the box, throwing others on the ground, trying to find what he was searching for.

- Damn, don't make a mess... - I was feeling better in my bed now, as I saw the mess on the floor.

- I will clean it, un. Don't try doing something stupid again. Let me check. – he got his lips on my forehead to check if I have high temperature, which made me even redder than I was.

- You are burning, and I don't think it's of your cursed seal, un. – He took a thermometer out of the box and hand it to me. I took it with little shaking hands and put it in my mouth, soon the sound came and Deidara eyes got even darker.

- You are sick indeed, that's too high, yeah. – He returned it in the box and soon he handed me a few pills and a glass of water. I groaned trying to get up again, but he put his hand on my back, helping me keeping balance.

- I can handle it myself... - I was keeping my eyes closed from the headache that popped out.

- You can't. Now shut up and drink. – He handed me the glass and I drank them all. I really get annoyed when he is talking like this, but I guess I'm sometimes a pain in the neck too. He took back the box with the pills back and he returned in my room with some wet towel.

- I –

- No. – he interrupted me from what I was about say, which wasn't "I don't need help "again. He put the towel on my forehead and sat back on the chair.

- I wanted to say, thank you, yeah. – I whispered but he heard me. A little smile showed on his face, he again left my room to grab something from the other rooms, as he returned with clay.

- You need sleep, I'll make a new masterpiece, un. – He took the clay and started modeling it in different shapes. I can't hide that I really like his art, it was a masterpiece indeed. I knew how to play with clay too, but he was much better, I guess at least he can be first in this.

- ... Make little wings – I was staring at his hands, which were doing a little bird from the clay.

- All birds have wings, Y/n, now go to sleep and you will feel better, un. – He put my hand under the sheets, wrapping me like a sandwich.

- Not all of them know how to use them. – he glanced at me as I turned my back at him and felt asleep.

I woke up after a few hours, he wasn't in my room, but his bird was. I took it in my hands inspecting every little detail of it, admiring it. It was a little bird with one big wing and the other was looking like it was broken. There was a little note next to the bird

"You need to learn how to fly, so you can see the beauty of the world beyond your sight, Y/n."

It was... good. Really good.
